This is my 2002 Chevrolet Suburban. I have been the second owner of this beast for the past 8 years. I bought it from my parents and they purchased it new and loaded from the dealership. Both of us maintained this vehicle with a lot of love and used it for nearly exclusively highway driving. They used it for family vacations, I used it for touring around the USA making music with my spouse. This truck has been incredibly reliable and it is great to drive in any and all weather. It is loaded, well-maintained, and even with high miles, it is a very strong runner (can't stop that GM V8!). I am only selling it now as I own it outright and I have recently purchased a late model Buick as I wanted a different type of vehicle and I have no need for two vehicles. Suburbans sell for a small fortune ($70k) as they are meant to be able to run forever if the owner maintains it. Motors regularly last to 400K and we religiously changed the oil and always used top brands (Valvoline, Pennzoil. [high mileage once it hit 100K] and good filters). I always used Lucas in the fuel and whenever a part needed to be replaced I opted for the best option. For example, a few thousand miles ago I put on Yokohama tires. Any repairs have been done by Neal Tire here in Charleston including a new AC compressor, rear brakes and lines, blower, new battery, and any fluid changes. Fluids and air pressures were checked constantly and two adults were the drivers and the overwhelming majority has been highway miles. Just hit the cruise, toss in a CD, turn on the AC, and watch the beautiful miles pass. This vehicle came new with basically everything that was available and its luxury features still work. Cold temp AC, leather seats that are heated (so nice on a cold winter day), power everything (windows, locks, mirrors, seats), 4WD (including an auto function), cruise control, CD player/cassette deck, privacy glass (tough to see in, but not out), roof rack, Onstar capable, great towing capacity and the absolute best cargo capacity, remote entry, and a great security system. Also, it seats 7 people comfortably! Now it is a great vehicle, but any 15 year old vehicle is going to have a variety of penny hassles, and the price reflects this (keep in mind that this specific SUV sold for $50k!). Cosmetically, it has some rough edges such as the windshield having a crack (I have been driving around with it like that for 4 years), some pretty good body rust, a gash on the liftgate courtesy of Rabbit Hash, KY (long story, I'll tell you about it when you buy it), the interior is scuffed and stained from years of use, and the liftgate and hood latch need vice grips to function (which I will totally include), and the stereo does not care for bass at a loud volume (the speakers rub). BUT, when it comes to power and durability the Chevrolet Suburban can't be beat! This truck is a runner, and at $1800 there is literally nothing else available that gives you this type of luxury features and power. The used Suburban market is incredibly expensive right now with $5,000 being the starting point. Overall, this is an incredible opportunity to buy a luxury SUV at a truly excellent price. Tow whatever you want. Put as many people in there as you want. Look forward to winter with your four wheel drive and heated seats. It is $1800 firm because it is totally and absolutely worth that (especially if you shop around). No tire kickers please, you know it's worth it!
