Vehicle Detail
This is my 2004 R1150GS that I've put a ton of miles on with little done other than routine service checks and oil changes. Then two weeks before an 800 mile trip into Canada I brought in to my BMW dealer for a 60,000 mile check, inspection and oil change. A red light went off in their computer analysis and it turns out the brakes were failing and the ABS system was already partially out. So as well as the expensive 60k service, I had to add US$2800 for a new ABS brake system. The bike passed the new July 2017 State vehicle inspection and has a big service check before I went to Canada about 800 miles ago. I have all the paperwork. The bike has what I would call "crash bars" to protect the engine. It's never been damaged. I have a Corbin seat and a back fender pack (I also have the original seat and back pad). Bigger aftermarket windscreen. PIAA lights installed. Recent new battery. Always serviced to the minute and garaged in heated garage on concrete floor. I have an "Airhawk" cushion for the seat and sturdy cloth inside bags for the luggage pods. This bike has a friction device on the throttle handgrip that tightens it up on the road, a poor man's cruise control. Looking to get a newer model with real cruise control but this bike doesn't have much trade-in value. Unclear what it's worth so I'll start the bidding low and see what the market forces say. The bike ran perfectly for a long trip last week and BTW, this is a rather tall motorcycle, not a low-slung Harley. I'm 6 feet tall and I can flat foot both sides in boots. No slack to spare, so be sure you're tall enough for a tall bike.
