1996 Subaru Outback 2.2 Liter Engine, Manual Transmission. ALL MAINTENANCE DONE!! For a hobby and a little extra income I buy and service mostly Nissan 2.4 Liter Manual Transmission Hardbody Pickups and early Subaru Outbacks with the bulletproof 2.2 Liter, Manual Transmissions. MY ORIGINAL INTENTION WAS TO KEEP THIS CAR FOR MY PROPERTY IN THE MOUNTAINS SO I REPAIRED EVERYTHING I THOUGHT IT NEEDED. I WANTED A RUST FREE EXAMPLE AND WHEN I FOUND THIS I FIGURED I WOULD DO IT ALL. BUT NEED A TRUCK FOR WORK NOW SO SOMETHING HAS TO GO. This car is ready to go another 100k miles easy All work done in last 1000 miles This car I bought with the common transmission pinion bearing whine. I replaced the transmission with a low mileage good condition used transmission and installed a new clutch kit. Replaced all shifter bushings then. Transmission and differential was drained and filled with fresh gear oil. Additionally it had a bad drivers wheel bearing which was replaced. Drives like it should now. Brakes needed some attention so I repaired them ALL and flushed the fluid. All calipers rebuilt with new seals. New rotors and new pad around. Next was the engine service. NEW water pump, timing belt and all rollers. New valve cover gaskets. Once I addressed those issues I did the normal tune up stuff too. Spark Plugs and Wires. Air Filter. Fuel Filter. Oil Change. SWAPPED ENTIRE INTERIOR FROM A 1998 OUTBACK TO HAVE LEATHER. So all seats and door panels are from a limited outback. Some wear but no splits. Nice used set. The door panels have automatic locks but the car didn't have that option so they don't unlock or lock the car. You have to do it manually like it was in 1996. Also the seats are heated but again it wasn't an option in 1996 so there was no plug So I left the switches out of the car and then the heated option just isn't used. Headlights tend to be faded on these so I had these redone at local body shop with high end clearcoat. Not done in my driveway half ass. Look brand new AC IS ICE COLD. Heat works well too. New Econo Battery from Interstate Batteries. I have been running it around town on the old tires but I just ordered a new set of tires today. So the car comes with brand new tires with zero miles. Will install before sale. Body has some dings and scratches but should be anticipated with a car that is 21 years old. No bad rust, just a few spots with sunbaked surface rust like we find down here in South Carolina. Just a good solid Subaru Outback with the best combo with the bulletproof 2.2 Liter and Manual Transmission. 154k miles and goes up as I drive it. Title doesn't have mileage listed on it says beyond mechanical limits. Think earlier in its life it was titled in a state that didn't recognize beyond 100k. Runs and drives like a car with a 154k so I am going with that as actual miles. All sales final. If you have questions or want additional pics please ask I am happy to help.
