This is a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am, originally a 301 car VIN 2W87W9L147489. I have owned it for 12 years and believe I am the third or fourth owner. The previous owner told me they brought it to Ohio from Arizona which I believe to be true since the build sheet says it was built on the west coast at the Van Nuys, CA plant. The car had 122,797 miles on it when I took ownership and currently has 124,567 miles on the clock. That's right in 12 years I have driven it only 1,770 miles, mostly to break-in the rebuild. Shortly after buying the car I swapped the 301 for a 461 stroker motor, rebuilt the tranny, put new tires on, replaced the weatherstripping, and replaced the interior. Since that time I got married, moved a couple times, and had a couple kids. I have come to the realization that I have lost interest in this project and it's time that it belongs to someone who has the time and know how to turn this iconic American muscle car into the earth shaking, tire melting, fossil fuel guzzling, quarter mile asphalt eater it needs to be. This car has very little rust and is a solid project. Problem areas are on the rear quarters just behind the door openings on both sides of the car. The underside, floor pans, and frame are solid with only spotty surface rust. I have posted below video of a cold start and idle, and slideshow pics of the interior and exterior.
