Here’s my beautiful 1968 classic VW Beetle convertible. I have owned this car since 2011 and it’s been a blast to drive, as well as a very dependable ride, for an almost 50 year old vehicle. It looks very cool and it handles like a sports car. The GOOD: The previous owner had just had the 1600cc motor completely rebuilt by a bug shop in Oklahoma, before I bought it. He had also had the front brakes converted to disc brakes, which do work great. The original front drum brake hubs come with the car. The motor runs excellent, the body is in very good condition, although it could use a new paint job, or at least some touch-up. The original color was yellow and there are some chipped areas showing around the body. The interior is in very good daily-driver condition, but the carpet has come unglued in some areas. The tires are brand new Dunlops. It has a new battery. I am also including almost $1000 worth of new interior parts, as well as a brand new vinyl top, that should make this car “show quality”. The BAD: The chrome rims have small areas of rust appearing in some places. The reverse gear sometimes wants to pop out, but I usually just hold it down tight while backing up. The frame heater channels are structurally sound, both doors close correctly, but they do have a couple of rusted holes in them that should eventually have steel plates welded over them. There are other small quirks, like sometimes the gas gauge doesn’t work, and sometimes the radio doesn’t work, but most everything else works as it should. Please ask questions before bidding.
