Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE Up for sale is a beautiful 1997 Land Rover Defender with 86,200 miles. I am selling the truck not because I want to, but because I have to. I own another Defender that I enjoy just as much, but don’t have time anymore to drive them both. 1997 was the final year Land Rover produced Defenders for the North American market and it features an upgraded engine (4.0 liter, V8) and the only year to have an automatic transmission. These are very rare trucks with only a few hundred on them imported during the final year. With its upgrades and improvement, 1997 was arguable the best Land Rover Defender ever made. This truck is a head turner that will strike up a lot of conversations everywhere you go. I’ve owned the truck for over 11 years and have taken extremely good care of it. This is a great vehicle in great working condition and been very well maintained. General notes, upgrades, and improvements. - Never taken offroad - Full roll cage - Brand new Rovers North soft top, June 2017 - Four brand new BF Goodrich All Terrain KO2 tires, June 2017 - Land Rover’s original iconic modular 16” wheels - V8, gasoline engine - Full time 4WD- Automatic transmission - TerraFirma Tubular Winch bumper - Rusting is minor, extremely good for age. Body is in very good condition. - Easily passed all emission tests, April 2017 - Cared for and very well maintained, regular oil changes every 3,000 miles - Front & Rear LED light kit - Optima Red Top battery - Recent fuel pump & sending unit replacement - Recent front brake pads and rotors replacement - Original owners manual - All original paint, looks fantastic, shines like new. - Brand new ANCO wiper blades, June 2017 - Sony SiriusXM ready, Bluetooth audio system. Spotify, Pandora, etc., Stream music from your phone and has hidden microphone for hands free driving. - There was an odometer replacement at 30,000 miles, November 2000, before I purchased the truck. This was disclosed to me before I bought the truck and have no problem disclosing to potential buyers as well. I have a picture of the work for proof. Odometer replacements/repairs are a very common occurrence with all Defenders. The reason for the defect in Defenders has to do with bad connectors to the display on the dashboard. The computer still adds up and retains the accurate total miles, but the bad connectors make it hard to read the display. There are many articles online about it, but here is a good one from East Coast Rovers, one of the most trusted Defender companies out there. Google search "East Coast Rover Speedo" You are more then welcome to do a pre-purchase inspection. I don’t not want to sell this iconic truck to any one that is not going to be just as happy with it as I have been.
