Up for auction is my 1972 super beetle. This beetle was running and driving and stopping very good approximately 18 months ago. I was not using this beetle for commute, so I drove it to a vehicle storage yard in Hayward, CA, and stored it. The car was stored at the storage yard 18 months ago. I have occasionally started the engine and warmed it up, and it starts right every time, but about 12 months ago. I have attempted to start the engine, and the engine spins but will not fire up. So I pour some gas into the cabureator, but the engine still will not start. I pulled the center spark plug wire from the coil and crank the engine to check for spark, there is no spark, so the motor will not start. A mechanic told me it could be the baker point or the coil is defected. I think it is an easy fix for somebody with some knowledge of vintage air cooled VWs. My beetle is stored at the storage and it is costing me $100 per month storage fees. I do not want to spend more money and time on my beetle any more, I just want to sell it.. This is an no reserve price auction, so the highest bidder is the winner. Please review all the photos. What you see is what you get.
