Model: 1974 BMW R90S with BagsVIN: K2690A363Mileage: 47,580 original miles General informationThis is a first-year R90S in beautiful condition. This bike is a older restoration. All numbers match.I bought it from the owner of a airhead shop in Minneapolis. It was in his personal collection for over 30 years. He restored it and put in several upgrades to make it a bike that can be easily ridden from coast to coast. He kept it in pristine mechanical condition. Reason for selling I am in my late 50s and live in Chicago. The older I get, it seems the less time I have to ride, therefore have been selling several motorcycles from my collection. At one point I owned 13 mostly early American motorcycles. I intend to keep only one antique bike. In four years I have owned this bike I have ridden it only 300 miles. Mechanical condition 10 / 10. Condition is superb. Starts easily and runs well. The bike is currently at Motorworks in Chicago having its annual tune up for the spring riding season. Since I purchased the bike I have installed new tires, a NOS seat (I have the original seat that had a tear) and a BMW accessory charging socket. It allows for easy battery charging.. Absolutely oil tight with no leaks of any kind. The previous owner put in numerous upgrades when he restored the bike. They include a upgraded transmission, 1975 brakes, extra fork support, latter removable saddlebags that are keyed to the bike. Cosmetic condition 8 / 10. Condition is excellent with minor signs of wear and age. Clearly garage-kept for its entire life. Minor deterioration visible on some rubber components. Chrome is excellent with no signs of corrosion. Very slight oxidation visible on the engine. Paint is excellent. Nicks and wear marks are visible on the mirrors. Notes It took me 5 years to find this bike. Few first-year R90S's still exist in good mechanical and cosmetic condition. In my opinion, this may be the nicest examples available for sale in North America for a long time to come.The R90S was not just an R90 with a fairing & styling but as you know it has the famous and reliable Delorto pumper carbs that are much higher performance that the standard BMW Bing carbs found on all other R bikes at the time. It is less known that the R90S had 9.5:1 compression compared to the R90 @ 9:1. It is even less known that the R90S has a hotter cam than the R90 or almost any other BMW of the 1970s--hotter but the R90S is still bulletproof! I have also sold several of my motorcycles via Ebay in the past and have a STELLAR feedback rating. This motorcycle is described to the best of my ability with all known flaws in detail.The motorcycle is being sold as-is and without a warranty of any kind.
