Vehicle Detail
Custom bike by Jay and crew at Choppahead Cycles, excellent builders and mechanics, finished in May 2013 when they were based in New Bedford, MA. Complete nut-and-bolt build, from the sludge trap up, powdercoated frame and wheels. Starts first kick and looks like new, no rust or wear. Hardly ridden, treated gently, barely broken in -- pipes aren't even blued. Everything works perfectly. Has been stored in the garage with a battery tender. Dunlop tires are fresh. No instruments or odometer on this build, but maybe a couple hundred miles on it. 1969 frame with a 1968 Bonneville 650cc engine with TR6 single carb head and new Amal carb. Runs strong and simple to adjust. Color is Triumph Amarynth (Maroon) with black wheels. Boyer electronic ignition. Spung leather seat with Cod fish hand-tooled by Jay Fortin Leathers, see photos. Frame is 4" extended hardtail rear. It has 1960s Norton handlbars on set-back triple tree from Triumph desert sled. Custom Choppahead black oil tank. Bonneville fuel tank. Nice riding position. Really low seat height at 25".... great for shorter rider, but works fine for me at 6'3". I posted a YouTube video so you can hear it running. I don't think Ebay allows a link, so just do a YouTube search: "Choppahead Codfish Bobber Ebay" The bike was featured in the Choppahead advertisement in "Iron and Air" -- photo attached. I put on baffled upswept pipes, but you can take them off. I included a photo before the longer pipes went on. No plastic on this bike...just steel and rubber. Every time I park it, someone is taking a picture of it when I come out. Triumph is now making a new bobber. This is better. The bike is registered in Massachusetts with a clean title, and has been inspected in the past. I haven't bothered to do it yet this year. It was tuned up last season, started second kick this spring. I did notice that one of the rubber fork boots has a tear. I'm a senior rider with other bikes, and not enough time to ride. Will probably regret selling it. Bike is available for local pickup in Massachusetts. I'm also advertising locally and reserve the right to sell for right offer. Starting price is low for this bike. Non-refundable $500 deposit through PayPal required. Cash or Cashiers check for the balance due within a week. Contact me through Ebay with any questions. Good luck! (P.S. If you want to have your own seat made, I'll buy this one back from you.)
