As seen in the May edition of the DuPont Registry, this truck boasts an original 239 flathead-V8 and 3-spd floor shift, and is an excellent specimen of the “father-line” to the modern F-series. This pickup is largely original, with an original engine, transmission, and 6-volt system. The truck also features several upgrades including chrome wheels, a modern steering wheel, and fiberglass front fenders. The cab's clean interior is one of the features that make this truck a standout; including a reupholstered bench seat, solid un-cracked glass, and a fully functional heater. This pickup is mechanically sound and has served as my daily summer cruiser for the last five years. I can’t stress enough how impressed I’ve been with mechanical quality of this vehicle (the truck has seen significantly less shop time than the newer Ford vehicles in our household). Current inspection with recent mechanical upgrades including a new water pump, wheel cylinder, generator, and regulator. A rust free frame, fully functioning wipers and electrical components, and a freshly refinished bed are additional features which characterize this one of a kind truck. The truck has a few minor blemishes, including a couple marks in the paint, and a small rust spot at the bottom of the door. But as is evident in the pictures, these don’t detract from the exceptional quality and look of this 67 year old classic. The best way to really appreciate the look and feel of this truck is to see it in person. Pictures don’t do it justice and you can’t understand the quality of the ride without taking a test drive in it.
