Vehicle Detail
We bought this car from Leake Auctions in 2015. It was once owned by the Car Chaser's TV show. The tranny needed a rebuild but we drove it for a year (double clutching) then pulled the tranny and had it rebuilt by Joe Cogbill of Cogscogs.com. We reinstalled the tranny and it shifts smooth but we've now blown the rear main seal it appears. The car is dripping oil from the back of the engine. The paint, interior, electrics, ac, motor and all the other stuff seem good to us. But we aren't in a position to pull the motor. So, we're throwing in the towel. We paid 8K from Leake and dropped 3500 in the tranny. We put a new alternator in it and that's about it. After the tranny install, the speedo isn't working. I guess we goofed up the connector on the outside of the transfer case. What else? The car has 127,000 miles and was a Euro model, imported into Washington state (see pics for numbers). It has a clean Texas title now. We've taken a couple of videos showing the car running and shifting through the gears. You can view these by going to the website www.attheworkshop.com and the page "fun vehicles." The car is being listed without reserve. Buyer arranges for shipping. The car is in Dallas and can be driven but not for any distance because of the oil leak. On Apr-13-17 at 12:43:25 PDT, seller added the following information: Hey, we have a bid! Winning bidder gets a full refund of bid price if this car does not meet expectations at time of inspection. The most you can lose is the cost of a trip to Dallas or round trip shipping. It's a very pretty car. Let me know if more pics or details are needed. Blemishes are minor. Paint is bright and glossy. On Apr-15-17 at 15:35:28 PDT, seller added the following information: Someone asked about records. Leake Auctions gave me nothing but the title with Meg Baily from Car Chasers on it. I've just posted a pic of the engine compartment - nice and clean. The engine number is M 28/09 with 0000350 under that..
