We have done hundreds of vintage Honda restorations and you can view more of our work on Instagram under the username "MetricClassics" Here is an abbreviated list of the restoration work: -Stripped down to frame and engine; frame sanded and repainted -All the hardware was taken off, acid stripped and zinc plated. Looks brand new! -Wheels taken apart, hubs sanded and polished, spokes replated and trued -Brand new vintage style IRC GS-11 tires and tubes -Carburetors were put through an ultrasonic cleaner and rebuilt with all new o-rings, fuel jets, needle and seat -Brand new WPS battery -Brand new Motion Pro brand throttle cable, clutch cable, brake cable; new speedo and tach cables -Front forks taken apart, old oil cleaned out, oil seals replaced and refilled with fresh fork oil (see photo) -Front drum brake hub taken apart and all corrosion on the brake surface sanded off, pads properly indexed so they wear evenly on both sides -Drive chain replaced with new 530 heavy duty roller -Brand new Honda factory countersprocket oil seal, shift shaft seal and shift drum seal -Engine oil drained and replaced with new Maxum 10w-30, new NGK B8ES spark plugs and plug boots -new Honda factory grips and new clutch / brake levers -Seat reupholstered with new vinyl and foam -New rear shocks -New chrome mufflers -New air filters -New turn signal and taillight lenses -Ignition timing system taken apart, all corrosion on timing advance mechanism cleaned off and oiled, ignition timing contact points sanded, cleaned and then reset to their proper timing marks -Engine intake and exhaust valve clearances set to correct factory spec (0.002mm intake and .005mm exhaust) This along with correct timing and carb tuning is what makes it start easier when cold and gives much better throttle response and consistent idle -Electrical system all gone through. All the connectors taken apart and the corrosion cleaned off for optimal performance. All switches and lights working, charging system and electric start properly working -New fuel petcock, fuel lines and fuel filters -Rear brake hub surface corrosion sanded, brakes inspected and properly indexed for optimal performance and proper long term wear -Full safety check including tightness of all bolts, proper fasteners and locking pins correctly torqued / tightened and put in place. Fires right up, runs beautifully! The paint on all the candy gold parts of 100% original and there are scratches and imperfections, most notably in the plastic side covers. This is not a perfect motorcycle. A solid 8.5/10 is what I would give it.
