Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a rare 1993 Lincoln Mark VIII. Mark VIII Specs: 4.6L 32 valve all aluminum V8 engine (the same as the Mustang Cobra) 280 hp, rear wheel drive, four-wheel independent suspension, with extensive use of aluminum suspension components. This car was a technological tour de force in 1993 and was the first 4 cam all aluminum American V8, and features variable length intake runners for improved fuel economy and top end horsepower. The 4 speed automatic is electronically controlled and features a 3.08 rear end gear for excellent highway fuel economy. Automatic climate control and an onboard computer which monitors various fluid levels and lighting systems was standard. This example has been very well maintained. There is zero rust and it drives like new. It has been undercoated annually, and all hard lines (brake lines, trans cooler lines etc.) have been coated in POR 15 to inhibit rust. This car is the pearlescent tri-coat metallic. Canadian car, located in Canada, so mileage is about 228,000km, so approximately 141,000 miles. All fluids (engine, transmission, differential, brake fluid) have recently been changed, and only synthetics are used. In the past year it has received 4 new control arms, strut rod bushings x 4, tie rod ends, inner and outer, both sides, 2 wheel bearings, brake pads, rotors and calipers on all 4 corners. The radiator was replaced in the summer of 2016. This Mark VIII has been converted to coil springs and shocks in place of the problematic air suspension. It also features the one piece aluminum driveshaft, which is not prone to the problems of the 1994-1998 Mark VIII's. I have recently installed a JVC Bluetooth/CD Player head unit, with a USB Port. Please note that the mileage is approximate and will vary as the car is still being driven from time to time. The winning bidder will get a pile of spare parts including, but not limited to: spare master cylinder, spindles, 2 winter tires on rims, rad hoses, clockspring, wiper stalk, etc. I used to have a second car for parts, but saved the good parts from it before sending it to the wreckers. The Bad: 1. There is a crack in the windshield on the passenger side. It is not in the driver's side wiper blade's swept area, so it should pass an Ontario safety inspection. 2. The driver's side mirror has a small chip in the side of it and the power feature does not work on the driver's side. The passenger side is fine. I will add a picture of it later. I have included a spare mirror from a junkyard, but it is blue and will have to be painted. 3. There are a some stone chips on the front bumper and hood, but nothing out of the ordinary for its age and mileage. The chrome trim on the front and rear bumper covers is peeling. 4. The car does have some small parking lot dings and minor surface scratches, to be expected for its age and mileage. Most of them could probably be fixed with paintless dent removal. 5. The 'beauty cover' i.e. the plastic cosmetic cover over the engine is missing. It serves no purpose, other than to hide that beautiful DOHC intake manifold, so I wouldn't really say it's an issue, I just want to be as honest as possible. Overall, the car does show very well. In fact, I entered it in a classic car show last year. It's not a 10/10, but I would say a solid 8.5/10. I would strongly recommend seeing the car in person, which can be arranged by contacting me. And...DO NOT BID IF YOU DO NOT INTEND TO BUY! ***This vehicle is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time should the car sell locally***
