Vehicle Detail
I purchased this Scout in 2015 to restore. It came from Arizona and has minimal surface rust on floor boards as you can see in the photos. There are no rust holes and truck is solid. There is a crack on the hood which is visible in the photos and a rip over one of the wheel wells. This truck has had no restoration - no bondo. In some of the pictures you can see the rocker panels and underneath the doors which is where you typically see rust. There is none. Not even surface rust. I've owned and restored Scouts in the past and this is the straightest and cleanest Scout I've owned. The topper is in great shape and no rust. It has the original paint job and some of clear coat is chipping off. This international Scout is a complete truck with original hubcaps and radio plate. The dash has never been cut. The doors open and close easily. Topper and tailgate fits well and works. Both windows work, but need adjustment. Included are extra interior metal plates that lead to inside window cranks. The truck has been sitting for a while, but a bump of the key and it turns right over. It has great compression, but needs to have the carburetor cleaned, clutch, and break work. I took the seats out with the intention of taking them to my upholsterer, but never made it that far. The seats are complete and included, but they will need new cushions and upholstering. It's very rare to find a complete Scout, untouched, and in as good a shape as this one. I've included two pictures of a 1962 Scout that I restored a few years ago. This one had holes you could stick your hand through. I sold it on Ebay in 2013 for $21,000. I just wanted to show you what this Scout could be. The white Scout is one that I sold and no longer own, but is a good example of what the tan Scout can be.
