1971 R75/5An unrestored old friend that needs to make room for a new stable mate This bike needs some work, but is in relatively sound condition for a long future It is a 3 owner bike that has been in my family since 1972 Heads were completely rebuilt last summer by a BMW Dealer Coils were replaced last summer Diode Board , Voltage regulator , starter interlock replay and rear tire have been replaced within the last 2-3 years Bike has never been restored, but repaired as needed it has been in my family since 1972 The main thing needed at the present time is new cables and a battery Includes original tool kit, riders manual , factory service manual, Clymer service manual and complete paper print outs of the original microfiche The fender was damaged in a minor spill about 20 years ago and was repaired see picture Clutch rod pivot on back of transmission broke about 25 years ago see picture valve covers have a few scars Center stand is missing Includes homemade service stand see pictures Free to ask any questions approx.. current millage is 89950 On Feb-02-17 at 14:39:25 PST, seller added the following information: A note to any potential buyer.In the interest of total honesty, I want to mention the following. As I mentioned , I think the battery is at the end of its useful life and that is probably the cause of the current problem, but I just want to mention that I am currently having some trouble with the starter relay chattering. I believe it is caused by the battery, but I am not sure. The bike cranks easily and runs fine after started. The starter worked fine in October, but the bike was parked since then and I know the battery is starting to fail.The bike has been maintained, but it is 46 years old.On Feb-03-17 at 04:58:51 PST, seller added the following information: Vin Number on Engine and Name Plate on frame Match.On Feb-04-17 at 14:05:11 PST, seller added the following information: Frame number also matches.
