Up for bid is my 1977 Mercedes Benz 450 SL convertible. The exhaust manifold gasket is leaking and it makes that typical npoise. It is possible that the repair involves the removal of the head if a bolt or stud breaks off which is very likely on a 40 year old car. The car is all original and has not been restored. She is a European (German Version) and was imported by an air force officer who was stationed in Ramstein Germany. I own her for 5 years. The former owner had the car for 12 years. Engine, Transmission are in good working order. She has some rost on the passenger side rocker panel and fender, see photos. It comes with the red steel hardtop, not featured in the photos.Plugs, Injectors, Fuel Filter, accumulator (Fuel Injection) Distributor cap brake pads ft & rear and starter motor are all replaced in the last 4 years.Who should not buy it:If you can not work on cars stop right here. If you are mechanically inclined, have the room, experience and tools, looking for a classic Mercedes for little money, you should consider her.Parting out the car would bring at least $2,000 just look for head lights, tail lights bumper etc. on eBay.
