Vehicle Detail

This Auction is for a rare SURVIVOR an AMAZINGLY original factory racing Triumph T120TT Special,NEVER used or registered for street use ALWAYS used as a racer period. Here is the description I got as written word for word by Paul Buccola who owned it for over 30 years. sic "The Triumph started out life in 1966 as a 650cc TT Special as one of three manufactured by the Triumph factory for The Triumph of Burbank official factory entry for Tourist Trophy Class C racing in the US.The bike toured the US piloted by Dusty Coppage along with Skip Van Leuwin,Eddie Mulder and GeneRomero. The bike turned a couple stints(2) as a road racer, the pilot was Gene Romero both at Carlsbad Raceway. After the 1966 season, the bike was handed down to Donnie Harris to be used primarily at Ascot Park for junior TT racing. After a successful 1967, the bike was then traded to Paul Buccola also for junior TT racing. The motor was upgraded by Dusty Coppage (Simi Valley Ca) in 1968 and fitted with an alloy oil tank. The bike was used in Southern California local racing from 1968 through 1972 when Moto Cross took over most of the racing. The sat from 1972 until 1983 and was then resurrected by Bert's Cycles in Cottonwood Arizona in 1987 where it was raced at local dirt tracks in the Verde Valley until moving back to Southern Cal in 1988 where it was turned into a Willow Springs Road Racer for a couple of years and then retired in 1990 where it had been in storage until turned over to Erich Martin in May 2007. I got it last year from Erich Martin he took off all the road racing off(a disc brake front wheel, clip on handlebars, road race tires etc) and reassembled it with its original parts as supplied by Paul Buccola back to original as you see it now,it even has its original Energy Transfer ignition that still sparks great!.The T120TT racers almost ALL suffered from major engine blow ups or damaged frames etc.to find one with its factory original matching frame and engine number is almost unheard of, remember, this ISN"T a trailer queen or a road used bike that has been "restored" to look "PRETTY" with Chinese reproduction parts, electronic ignitions later type carburettors restamped engine and frame numbers etc. This one not only has its original frame and motor but has its original wheels, brakes, handlebars ,levers kill switch, TT exhaust pipes monoblock carbs.I have its original oil tank in good shape but has been welded, they were prone to crack from vibration, the seat is a Bates which was on the bike from day one NO ONE raced with the with the big ole loaf of bread looking stock seats they came with! SO here is an opportunity to obtain a piece of history raced by some of the very top riders in the USA in the mid-1960's. I used to own British Motorbikes in No Hollywood and was a factory Triumph dealer for a short while before the Co. folded in the early 1980's I know the real thing when I see it.Viewing available anytime it's in No Hollywood just call Frank 818 645 9029 winning bidder responsible for shipping and transportation, local pick up is fine good luck with your biddingOn Sep-27-16 at 17:44:10 PDT, seller added the following information: I HAVE JUST REALIZED I HAVE LISTED IT WITHOUT A RESERVE AND EBAY WON'T LET ME ADD IT NOW AS IT HAS BIDS ON IT SO,I WILL LEAVE IT NO RESERVE,BUT IF IT DOESN'T GET A REASONABLE BID BY THE LAST DAY I WILL CLOSE IT.REMEMBER MADE OVER ONES ARE BID OVER FIFTEEN THOUSAND AND WITH ZERO HISTORY
