Vehicle Detail

Here is an opportunity to own an award winning show car from the early 70s. It won 17 first place awards in prestigious venues like Chicago's McCormick place, Arlington Park and Milwaukee. Four of its trophies come with the car. It has appeared in famous magazines such as Rod Ideas (summer 1972), Hot Rod (April 1974), Street Rodder (February 1975) and Rod Action (December 1974). Copies of the magazines are included with the car. The all steel 1953 MG TD roadster was built with a 283 Chevy and has been equipped with ported/polished heads, solid lifters with a TRW cam, roller rockers, Holley 650 carb, Doug headers, 350 turbo transmission, Chevy 12 bolt posi 4.56 rear end, traction bars, custom interior by Stitch, a plexiglas engine cover, Moto Lita steering wheel, Stewart Warner gauges and a long list of other custom items. The Cragar SS gold mags are fitted with Goodyear Polyglas GT F60-15 tires on the rear and Goodyear Blue Streak Sports Car Special 4.25/7.00-15 tires on the front. Still sporting the original lacquer brown paint, the car is accented with yellow and gold throughout the vehicle. Seats are beige with matching door panels, seat belts, dash and even covered running boards. A custom tonneau tops it off. The chrome on the bumpers, radiator shell, windshield frame, gas cap and spare tire mount is in excellent condition. Underneath, the springs, rear shocks, pumpkin, backing plates and spring pan edges are chrome plated too. Paint is in nice condition, but because it is lacquer, it is starting to show its age particularly on the front fenders where some cracking is evident. The car has only clocked 346 miles since it was built and runs very well. Despite the low usage, the oil has been changed frequently and the car properly maintained. Although the engine has been set back in the frame, it will easily light up the rear end. Driving it is not for the faint of heart! The builder of the car is available to give the entire history and answer any questions. It comes with a file of some build information and a few extra parts. It has a clear Illinois title. Pickup only in Burlington, Wisconsin. Delivery between Milwaukee and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania can be arranged during the first week of October. Delivery between Milwaukee and Raleigh, North Carolina might be possible during the first week of November. Contact me at 847-830-7193 for details.
