Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is my beautiful, loaded 1996 Caprice Classic Sedan finished in black with medium beige leather interior. My father and I purchased this Caprice from its original owner in the spring of 2001 with only 55,000 miles on the odometer. Over my 15 years of ownership, I have driven it less than 25,000 miles. In 2014 I had my father removed from the title, and I was issued a new title from the state of Minnesota. I still have all the paperwork from 2001 when we purchased the car. This Caprice was purchased new from Ivan Grandrud Chevrolet, Inc. in Green Bay, Wisconsin. It has been in Minnesota since I purchased it in 2001. I have a collection of vehicles; therefore, this was never a daily driver. It has never seen snow or road salt since I purchased it, and I have rarely driven it in the rain. I have never run this Caprice through a car wash of any kind. It is hand washed in the garage and then immediately polished and waxed using 3M products. The paint shows even better in person than it does in the photos. This Caprice did not need any detailing prior to taking the photos for this ad, as I simply do not allow it to become dirty. I can count on less than one hand the number of times I have let anyone ride in the car, and I have never left it outside overnight. This Caprice sits on a concrete floor in a nice garage with a cover over it while it is not in use. All the leather and rubber is soft and supple, and it has never been smoked in. The interior of this car still has the sweet aroma of vinyl and leather similar to when it was new. It starts, runs, drives, shifts, and brakes as good as it looks. This Caprice is extremely original. It is never been wrecked, it has never had any body work done, and it has 99% original paint. I had the front bumper repainted shortly after I purchased the car to remove any minor rock chips. This is a time capsule vehicle that has never needed any restoration as both owners have taken impeccable care of it. The only non-stock items on this car are the 17" Impala SS alloy wheels, and a Monsoon CD player out of a Camaro. I purchased these wheels brand new from Friendly Chevrolet here in the twin cities back in the 2000s. The wheels as well as the BF Goodrich G-Force T/A (Z-rated) tires have less than 10,000 miles on them. This car comes will all of it's original documentation including the owner's manual as well as the factory window sticker. It also comes with a laminated, color copy of the window sticker for show purposes. Not only does the car look great, but I have also maintained it well. I would not be afraid to fly in and drive this car across the country. Within the past year I have done the following maintenance using all oem AC Delco parts: -New radiator -New clutch fan -New belts -Flushed all antifreeze (including heater core) and replaced with new oem style Dexcool -New water pump -New thermostat -New fuel filter -New spark plugs -New spark plug wires -New opti-spark distributor -New AC Delco Professional battery This is a highly desirable Caprice with the following factory performance options: -5.7 Liter LT1 V8 engine -Posi-traction, limited-slip rear end with a 2:93 rear gear -Stainless steel dual exhaust -Sport suspension. The steering feels weighted and has a relatively quick response when compared to other American land yachts. -Heavy duty trailer towing package with a mechanical fan, auxiliary transmission cooler, and a heavy duty alternator. This is a loaded car with "special value package three" including: -Leather seats with a 55/45 split front bench seat -CD player -Alloy wheels -Full-size spare tire with a factory 15" alloy wheel (never used) -Driver and passenger 6 way power seats -Cruise control -Power mirrors, windows, and locks. Express down for the driver's side front window. -Power antenna (working as new) -Illuminated passenger's side visor vanity mirror -Auto dimming rear view mirror -Rear seat reading lamps -Sungate heat reflective windshield (this car still has it's original windshield) -Twilight Sentinel (automatic lamps) -Cornering lamps This car has been a part of my life for a very long time, and I will be sad to see it go if it sells. I hope to sell it to someone who will respect it and take excellent care of it. Please look at the following photos before bidding. I have included a close up of the window sticker as well as the Service Parts Identification label under the trunk lid. Feel free to email or call me with any specific questions. I may be reached at 651-402-8463. I have the vehicle at my home and I am happy to set potential buyers up with an appointment to inspect the vehicle in person. Thanks for looking! -Brandon
