Vehicle Detail
Here we have a car that really deserves a 2nd and maybe a 3rd look, because a car is only original once. Chassis 212130 left the Porsche Factory on October 23rd, 1962 and arrived at Hoffman Porsche in New York. It was then given to it's first owner, Frank Becker on February 5th, 1963. You can see the original service booklet with Frank's name on it, how cool is that? What's makes this car so special, it looks pretty original with little stuff like the un-kinked hood or the original engine and gearbox still present. A car is only original once and it's not often you get to see who was the first owner of a car. Mr. Becker's name also appears on the Factory Kardex, please see pictures of this and the service booklet. The car is barn fresh, last being on the road in 1983, so it has actually been off the road longer than it was ever on the road. We fired up the motor, so rest assured the motor is not stuck or missing components. We did not attempt to drive the car since it has been sitting for so long, we figured the new owner will want to replace all the systems like brakes and fuel before the rubber hits the road. The good news is the car is fairly original and you can get an idea of what it looked like when Frank first took delivery back in 1963, the bad news is like a lot of these cars this one does have rust. Please see all the pictures to get a good idea of the rust repair needed. Back to the good news, since it is a numbers matching car with the original engine and gearbox this is a car that can absorb the cost of restoring it without being upside down when you are done. Once restored a numbers matching Ivory over Red Coupe will command the top of the bracket for a B car. Remember it costs the same thing to restore a matching numbers car versus a non-matching car but only one will hold it's value guaranteed and has the potential to become a serious collector's car, and that's the numbers matching car. Don't miss out on a chance to grab a very cool car! I am a 356 and Early 911S Registry member with an eBay Feedback Rating of 100%, so bid with confidence.
