Vehicle Detail

I bought this very complete 48 Chevy about 5 years ago after it had been garage stored since the late 1980's. The previous owner said the mileage is original and the car was from the Green Bay, WI area. It has the complete original drivetrain and is 6 volt. I have cosmetically restored many cars during the past 40+ years (a hobby to keep busy) and that was my intent with this vehicle. I left the body and paint "as they were" and made the car roadworthy and presentable. There has been some past repairs that show in the pics. The following was done. The gas tank, some lines, and the fuel pump were replaced. The starter, generator, and carburator were rebuilt. The radiator and heater core were rebuilt and hoses replaced. The brake master cylinder, each wheel cylinder, and all pads were replaced with new. Brake lines were replaced if needed. The steering column was restored. The front knee action shocks were replaced with new rebuilds. New Coker tires, trim rings, and hub caps were installed. (4 blackwalls go with car) The interior was gutted and a complete new 48 style interior was professionally installed. All needed rubber moldings and window channels were installed. All glass is original. I replaced much of the wiring with original style cloth covered wiring. The car has the following options and accessories: a rebuilt pushbutton radio, a deluxe heater, a trunk guard and all 4 fender guards, fog lights, a spotlight, original jack, chrome fender shields an original sun visor, and new lower moldings were installed. I have a reproduction turn signal kit that goes with the car. There is a period correct compass in the car. Please see all the pics. The brakes work nicely, the transmission shifts well, and the car drives pretty good. No engine work has been done other then new tune-up componants and I did put in cleaning oil in the upper cylinders to loosen the rings before starting it. The engine did turn freely when I bought it. The vehicle had been undercoated when new and the frame is solid. One rust spot near drivers left heal has been repaired. There are probably things I missed....so ask questions. This is a great original car that can be taken to new levels or left as is.
