Vehicle Detail

This BMW has been well maintained and garaged most of its life. It has all the bells and whistles, including heated seats and Harmon Kardon speakers. Many of the normal wear parts have been replaced over the past year (hoses, belts, water pump, lower control arm bushings). Clean Carfax -- no wrecks ever! Looks and drives great - no pulls and no shakes.A sexy, sporty convertible to enjoy all summer and for many summers to come.On Jul-14-16 at 20:41:42 PDT, seller added the following information: I’ve received a number of questions about this car, so I’m going to tell you all I know. My wife and I had two SUVs and decided we only wanted one SUV and one car, so we shopped on ebay and found this one in February of 2015. The BMW was going to be her fun car, and how strange is this: one of her nicknames, Babs, is part of the VIN. So, we bid on it and won. But she was very sick and she died (on Valentine’s Day) before the car was delivered. I didn’t want the car, but I didn’t want to stiff the guy I bought it from – it wasn’t his fault or his problem. The car was delivered two or three days later, a cold and snowy day. I put it in the garage to deal with later. I could see that the car had been garaged. It was 14 years old, from a northern state, and there wasn’t a bit of rust. When I took it to the local European car shops, I found that it had a problems typical of older BMWs: a number of belts and hoses were bad, the water pump needed to be replaced, and the front end needed some new bushings. In addition, the valve cover had a crack and was leaking oil and the spark plugs needed to be replaced. Over the past year I’ve had all of that work done. BMWs are not cheap to fix. I paid over 6k for the car and it cost me that much more to do all the repairs. So here’s the deal. You can find cars out there that look the same, but you will likely end up spending a few thousand bringing them up to standard. Or, you can buy this one and have very few problems left to fix. Here’s all I know of that I haven’t fixed yet. 1. The front bumper on the driver’s side doesn’t push all the way in. There is a broken tab or something. 2. There is a chip in the windshield, but I forgot all about it until today. It’s no big deal and I got used to it. It’s on the passenger side, pretty high up. It passed Virginia inspection twice. 3. The windshield washer tank leaks where the pump plugs in. There’s nothing wrong with the tank or the pump, just not a good seal there. Probably needs a new seal. I can’t think of anything else it needs. Also, two of the wheels are new, and I bought two complete sets of mats, one rubber and one carpet.
