1979 BMW R65 A nice 650 airhead, it is mechanically sound, cosmetically very good, and runs excellent. The bike has low mileage and has been well taken care of, always stored inside a garage. As a result the paint is very good and the seat has not weathered and has no tears. The engine runs great and is in excellent condition. Because the bike had been stored for a number of years we went thru the mechanicals carefully in order to ensure correct operation. We cleaned up the top end and adjusted the torque and the valves All the gaskets and seals were replaced including new head gaskets, valve cover gaskets, push rod tube seals, and cylinder base large and small O ring seals. Installed a new air filter. Installed new grips. A complete tune up included carburetor rebuild with new parts. New plugs and points and timing were set. New fluids, and filters through out. The oil pan removed cleaned and re-installed with new gasket. The transmission was removed, and the clutch was checked and found to have lots of life left. We installed a new main seal and while apart and installed a new oil pump O ring seal as well. All drive splines were cleaned inspected and lubed, including, clutch, the transmission input shaft. AGM battery was installed. The tires are very good. The lighting all works, switches work as they should. All instruments work, speedometer, odometer, tachometer, brake lights, and turn signals. Rear brakes work as well as most airhead drum brakes, and the front disk brake is well within spec, showing minimum wear. The bike has the original Krauser Saddlebags. There is a Brown aftermarket side stand. This is a very nice BMW and will make a very good sport touring bike, lots of life left and runs like new. We have included multiple pictures to show as accurately as possible the exact condition of the bike.
