1996 HONDA CBR600SE SMOKIN' JOE'S ONLY 663 MILES Up for auction is a very rare find... a 1996 Honda "Smokin' Joe's" edition CBR600 with only 663 miles!!!!!!! This bike is a true survivor, hidden away in a storage container for the entirety of it's life until it was found again last summer. When found it had only 330 miles, still had the original dealer-issued temporary tags on it and only came with a "Certificate of Origin." The bike has since been registered, tagged and titled so you don't have to worry about dealing with the messy business of getting that "CO" through your DMV. (***of note, I was able to keep the CO and it will convey, it just gives the bike a nice bit of provenance***) This bike is all original and unmolested and belongs in a museum (or screaming down the highway in a blur of purple and yellow!) Look at that awesome 4-into-2-into-1 black can hanging off the right side... man I miss the 90's!!! Upon receipt, all fluids (oil, coolant, and brake) were drained and refilled. The carburetors have been cleaned and synched, and a new fuel pump has been installed. The tank was removed and professionally cleaned, though it didn't need it. I then GENTLY rode this masterpiece of a bike up to the 600 mile mark and performed the ever crucial 600 mile service on it (again with all the fluids, etc.) While it is technically past its Honda recommended "break-in" time, I would suggest to whomever might take possession of this bit of history that you ride it gently yourself for the next 400 miles or so to continue to break it in, given its age and lack of use. Once you do that, change the fluids again then flog it like you would your two-stroke dirt bike, this bike will give you tens-of-thousands of miles of trouble-free riding... these F3 engines are legendary for their reliability! Or, just park it and stare at it while drinking a beer, that's often what I find myself doing! A battery tender pigtail has been installed along with a new gel battery. I have gone over every inch of this bike with a fine-tooth-comb and cleaned it as well as having inspected all gaskets, seals, cables, and lines to ensure that everything is in fine working order, free of dry-rot or malfunction and ready for highway use... if it looked bad, I replaced it! I do not spare even the smallest detail and take pride in presenting a bike that is as good today as the day it rolled off the Honda assembly line.
