This car perfect for someone needing an inexpensive car for short commutes or errand-running. It is nice looking, no major dents or body rust, and is quiet and smooth. It has 277,510 miles and the oil is changed every 5000 miles. I would expect another year or two out of this car if well cared for. All four tires are new as of this winter. (see close up). My daughter has been driving this back and forth to school and work for the last two years and has never had a problem but I still tell her never take it outside a 20 mile radius of home due to the two issues noted above and below. As noted above there are two issues you as a buyer should know of that I'll re-iterate here: The transmission slips on the 1-2 shift but it is fine while cruising. Because of this, I would not recommend this car for long road trips. My daughter once took it to Bloomington (about 100 miles) without me knowing and everything was fine, but with any car this old it's best not to tempt fate. Also the bundle of brake & fuel lines had developed leaks due to corrosion and were spliced with new brake-line and compression fittings, the fuel line was spliced with high-pressure neoprene hose. The splices are fine and the exiting lines were wire-brushed and coated with an anti rust coating after the splice, but anyone owning this car will want to keep an eye on this to monitor any further corrosion.
