If you are a fan of these cars, you know that 1988 is the first year of the last body style for these amazing cars. It was import Car of the Year in 1988 and you should You Tube or Google facts if you want to know more. It is the lightest of this body style (88 only) and light=nimble and quick. It is really special and why this is often cited as one of the future classics. I had one of these in college, drove it daily and even across the country with a buddy. It will remain as the best car I have ever owned. I found this one here locally (Charlotte NC area) where it was sold new and never left the area. I bought it from the original owner after the clutch failed him and he parked it. It had around 235k on it. I have the means and I did not spare any money on the restoration items. 2012 -I had the motor completely gone through by Johnny Parker who has worked on Hondas since 1974 and went through the Honda engine building school. We used all Honda parts on the build, including the individual mains. It is basically a new engine. New clutch, axles, all new brakes (all new), new gas tank, new fuel pump, new injectors, new radiator, new, new, new. A/C works great, climate control was fixed properly and looks awesome, moonroof, seats, heat, wipers, etc. all work. Nothing wrong with the car at this point and you could drive it across the country today. I have most of the paperwork on this car from the day it was sold new and I have all the receipts from the work I have had done to it. I have put about 25k on it since the rebuilds, using ONLY Mobil-1 and Honda lubricants. I found an original set of correct 1988 seat covers (NOS) that I had professionally installed. These seats are seriously like new. I fixed the normal leak issues that these had at the body seams in the roof when I had it painted. There are none better and if you guys are looking for this car, you know how hard it is to find this. I have a nose bra I have not used since the car was painted its original black. There are stone chips in the front of the car, but I have touch up paint and those could be addressed easily. I can do it for you if you buy the car and request it. Tires are in great shape, new exhaust, OEM mud flaps all around and I am sure it would pass inspection if your State required it. I have an original Honda tape deck for it and will include it, but I upgraded the stereo to a Bluetooth/XM/CD unit with a hidden subwoofer that sits in the spare tire. The speakers were all upgraded to infinity units (again no expense spared here). I have the original, rare floor mats for the car too, but do not use them when I drive the car anymore. They are in the garage and will be included. I have a full car cover included that I keep on the car in the garage since I do not drive it much (it is just a fun car- not my daily). I have a bunch of little extras that go with the car like more brake parts, sunshades, a center arm rest, etc. I do not want to sell the car, but I have a degenerative disc issue, I am 6'3" and this car is not comfortable for me anymore. I also have another car that I'd like to get in the garage and I refuse to park this one outside. I'd encourage you to come see it and drive it with me if serious. I will not give the car away and if you are thinking about putting another engine in it, lowering it, or modding it in any way, DO NOT BID. It is very rare to find an unmolested 88 si with pedigree like this. Go find a shell and hack that up, it just helps the value of the cars that are saved like this one. It is a quick, fun little sports car that is increasing in value and a car you can drive anywhere with most modern car features and a cool factor that few 80's cars had. A true driveable classic.
