AuthenticMaritime presents 1978 Ferrari 308 DINO GT 4-camNO RESERVE - Car will be sold!HIGH BID WINS! No BIN!*PPI and thorough test drive encouraged*________________________________________________________________Important things first: Vehicle parked in a garage and covered. Engine and tranny rebuilt 21,551 miles ago.Parked on a white carpet. No leaks, no smoke, holds good oil pressure. Tranny shifts flawlessly. Runs cool even in 95 degree weather in traffic! Don't get stuck bumping your head in a GTB or on the roof panels in a GTS. Enjoy the relatively spacious interior of a GT 4-cam. "One of the best driver's cars ever to come from Maranello." (European Car, 1997). "Styling is not the reason to take a look at the GT4 - handling and performance is." (Forza) GT4 stands for 4 cam, not 4 seats. The back seat is just for decoration. Have you ever seen anybody riding around in the back seat of a Dino??? The back seat is a fancy package shelf."...tastes tend to change and here at Forza we think it's looking better than ever. Do yourself a BIG favor: Drive a healthy 308 GT4, and you will probably buy it. It is as simple as that. For years, these little driver's jewels have been one of the Ferrari world's best kept secrets. GT4 bodies were built in Scaglietti, not Bertone. Having previously owned a GT4 (s/n 10344) and a GTS (I don't recall the serial number, that alone should tell you something), I can say firsthand that, on the road there is no comparison between the two." Winston Goodfellow (Forza Magazine Buyer's Guide)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Please check photos carefully. No radio or A/C. Backseat removed and package shelf provided.#14518, November 1978. Additional Photos provided under 2nd listing for Ferrari Enzo RC car.Additional Info: Full thick 2-tone leather interior (All black made it look like a cave). Seems like some people aren't very informed "buyers." "That 4 does NOT mean 4 cam. It was put in the description for 4 seats! Every 308 engine has 4 cams. I have a 1979 308GT4 and a 1978 308GTS and have owned another 308GT4 prior to the one I have now. I have been a Ferrari owner for the last 30 years of my 54 years on this planet. I have been a member of "Ferrari Club of America" for over 20 years. You are making yourself look real ignorant buy putting that the GT4 indicate 4 cam and not 4 seats." Congratulations on all your credentials. Perhaps you've seen "The New Leaf" (1971) where Walter Matthau drives a 1968 275 GTB4? It is CLEARLY a 2 seater with 4 cams. Ferrari produced some 308 Dino GT 4-cam cars with a package shelf. They were not labeled GT2. It seems rather odd that Ferrari would change its 4 cam designation to 4 seats as the years went by. The founder of the GT4 registry stated that the 4 stood for 4 cams. From the Ferrari Buyers Guide> “By 1974, the next Dino to be introduced was the Dino 308 GT4, (Gran Tourismo 4-cam). It had a 2+2 layout, with a 3 liter V-8 mid-engine. The small V-6 of the previous Dino was not powerful enough for this heavier car. So Ferrari developed an entirely new engine for the GT4. It was the first V-8 that Ferrari ever put in a road car, and a fantastic little engine. This time, the whole engine and car were made entirely by Ferrari. The engine no longer said Dino on it. It said Ferrari.” This was the FIRST MID-ENGINE 8 cylinder car introduced by Ferrari, the Dino 308 GRAN TOURISMO 4-CAM. Please make a call to Italy to confirm my "IGNORANCE."
