I never thought this day would come but it has. I have been the proud owner of this amazing Ford F1 since February 2005. I purchased it in Hattiesburg, MS from a dealer named "AutoLocators" who sold it on behalf of the University of Southern Mississippi. Prior to being sold it was used for booster events and a showroom vehicle from 2001 - 2004. Southern MS acquired the car from a football booster who had commissioned the building of this truck from the ground up at NO EXPENSE spared. I was floored when I first saw the truck in person, it was the most amazing restoration that I had ever seen. In fact, it looked like it had just rolled off the factory floor. So, even thought this is a fifteen year old restoration it doesn't show that way. It was in a showroom for 2 years, I drove it once a week for six months out of the year from 2005 - 2011 and it has been used very little since then. Everything on this truck was new or rebuilt when I purchased it in 2005 with less than 1000 miles on the rebuilt Flathead. Since it has been in my possession it has never been driven in the rain, salt, or snow and has always been garage kept. It has not been driven much in the past few years but has been maintained and run regularly. It starts up on the first or second turn depending on the temperature and runs strong and sounds amazing with the dual stainless steel exhaust. The power plant on this truck was built by an expert and everyone that hears it and sees the engine is amazed at it's distinctive sound and performance. The roof on the drivers side was damaged in transport in 2011 when it was shipped from SW Michigan to Atlanta. The shipper refused to fix the damage and I was gone for months at a time when it happened so I let it slide. Anyway, take a look at the last picture in the set that I provided. Something or somebody in the truck stepped on the roof and cracked the paint. There is a small concave that looks like it could be easily pushed up if the headliner is removed. I never hide anything in an eBay auction (just read my feedback) and I figure the new owner should handle this the way they want to. The paint and roof are very minor repairs and can be dealt with if it is ever repainted. 2. The drives side door has a small paint crack/imperfection. See the second to last picture. It has been there for at least 7 years and most people would never notice it. I believe it could be fixed with some epoxy and some light wet sanding but like I said before I figured the new owner can make their own choices. This is a rock solid truck and I figure it is ready to go one of three ways: 1. It has all the ingredients and bones to be a great show vehicle. It wouldn't take much to bring to full stock concourse quality. 2. It would make a great foundation for resto/mod the Flathead is as strong as you would ever find out there with a new front end this could be a driver without too much effort. 3. For somebody that has always dreamed of a really well done (not just on the surface but every nook and cranny and every nut and bolt) F1 this baby will turn heads just the way she is. She needs a solid detailing and maybe some compound. The two paint issues can be remedied pretty easily and with a little epoxy she can wait on a paint job for a few more years. Like I said at the start, I don't want to sell this truck, never ever thought I would have to. However, my circumstances have changed. I am living in a condo in Florida, my tools are in storage and my lifestyle just doesn't permit me to enjoy this truck like it should be. This truck turns heads EVERY where it goes and you will have people asking you to pop the hood or crawl up under it to take a look. I have had dozens of old timers almost tear up when they see this baby. More than a few have told me that this trucks looks better than they did when they rolled off the assembly line.
