Relisted due to previous buyer purchasing site unseen and changing their mind. Please Note: this is not a fully restored vehicle. For sale or best offer is 1973 Volkswagen THING. It runs well. It has a rebuilt engine with approximately 5,000 miles on it. It has a 4 speed manual transmission. It shifts good and the brakes and clutch are good. Newly upholstered front and rear seats. Rear seats and lower cushion have tears and holes. Good battery, ignition and brakes. The tail lights and headlights, wipers work. The turn signals partially work. The top has been replaced and in good condition with some slight separation at the 2 back seams (approx 3 inches on each side). It has all windows and doors that close and latch. Comes with the original top (frame only) and an aftermarket top which you can see in photos. We have the title in hand. We also have a tow bar that mounts to the frame so you can tow it behind another vehicle. See photos. It has some rust throughout and rot on the inside of all wheel wells (see photo of one wheel well as an example). The body overall is in good shape for a 43 year old vehicle. It has a small pea size hole on the drivers side floor board and some body damage on the right rear quarter panel. The vehicle is located in Raleigh North Carolina. Note: the Odometer reads 87,000 +/- miles. We are not sure if this is accurate, we are not the original owners of the vehicle. The Speedometer / Odometer was not working when we bought it and we had it repaired when we took possession. We encourage you to ask questions.
