Vehicle Detail

Here's an exceptionally clean 1997 Suzuki Marauder VZ800. 8392 original miles. I am the 2nd Owner. I bought this bike in 2000, when it had 4182 miles on it. I was told @ the time that the first owner traded it in for a newer model (i.e., nothing wrong w/it), and I have had no major issues w/it. I was 36 years old when I bought it, and am 52 now. So, adult-driven for the last 16 years. It currently has 8392 miles on it, and so math says that have put only a few hundred miles on it each year since I bought it in 2000. I've never laid it down, and never had an accident on it. I have always done yearly maintenance on it in the form of oil change and tuneup. I have meticulous maintenance and repair records, if you want to see them. It has the original tires. Motorcycle tires are supposed to last 10,000 - 15,000 miles (says Reddit), so you should have 33% - 50% of the life left on the current ones. I am selling it because I bought a big Harley, and, though I do want a 2nd bike, I want one that's smaller than this for ease of use and parking in the city, where I live. Now, this bike IS a little finicky, as are most Japanese bikes of this vintage. By "finicky," I mean that if you don't drive it regularly then sometimes she just says "eh, I don't feel like starting today." Usually that's because the battery has drained. On occasion it's been because the carbs needed cleaning. This happens to me once or twice each summer, when I've neglected to ride for a while. I usually just charge the battery and I'm fine. A few times over the past 15 years I've had to have someone clean the carbs (don't know how to do that myself). I took the battery out last fall, and have had it on a trickle charger since. I haven't put it back in yet this spring. I don't guarantee that this bike will start and you can drive it away without tinkering w/it when you pick it up, but it's a fine bike and it generally runs. It just needs either regular use or someone who doesn't mind the occasional "eh, I don't feel like starting today" attitude of the bike when they want to ride. NADA says the retail on the bike is $700 - $995. For a reserve here, I took the average of that, then cut it in half, for $425. A great bike for a low price! $300 due by PayPal within 48 hours of auction close, the balance in cash on pickup Happy bidding.
