World Class Auto Inc. is pleased to be able to offer this historical beauty. A 1961 BMW 502 V8. This vehicle was manufactured by BMW on September 28th, 1960. It was delivered to the BMW dealer Automag in Munich on September 30th, 1960. The vehicle was later purchased by a Canadian military Sergeant who was posted in Germany until 1975. On July 1st 1975 this BMW was shipped to Canada. The mileage at the time was 38,648 kilometers. The vehicle was then stored in a barn with 38,838kilometers where it remained for the next 41years until it was purchased by World Class Auto. This is truly a barn find! The BMW 502 3.2 V8 was produced from 1955-1962. These vehicles were very limited production only 2,537 total 3.2/3200L vehicles being produced during that time period. This BMW 502 is a survivor. When pulled from the barn after 41 years we found it to be fully intact, no parts or pieces missing, with a solid body, floor and frame. We decided to put power to it to see what, if anything, still worked after sitting for so long. Much to our amazement, all of the lights work, the radio powers up and although we did not try to start it yet the starter does engage and the engine is free. We believe the BMW V8 will run with a fresh service and fuel. Adding to the rarity of this find is the manual sliding sunroof, very few were produced with this option. This BMW 502 is a perfect, well deserved candidate for a full restoration. If you are a collector, a BMW fan or an automobile restoration specialist this BMW is a must have.
