Vehicle Detail
1981 Honda CB650 Custom This bike has been bobbed and chopped, and I bought the bike for that reason alone and to turn around and sell it (like I am now) The rear section of the frame was cut, and a rigid Harley frame was welded into place. It is bolted onto the swingarm, so the rear tire and rear swingarm bearings can easily be replaced if needed in the future. A new La Rosa solo seat was added along with a new 400lb shock max. under the seat (this bike actually rides really smooth). It has the same neck geometry and wheelbase so there are no adverse effects to the handling of this bike. It handles incredible, and is a blast to ride. If you have never been around these CB650's, they are super peppy bikes, and this one can lift the front tire off the ground when you really goose it. It could use a new chain, along with a rear tire. I noticed the clutch is slipping a bit, but nothing I would worry about or that concerns me. The tire has a plug in it, which may bother some people but I feel is safe for what it is,.. a little hot rod around town bike. Front tire is in good condition. I added the airfilters and cut the stock pipes down,.. it is in great running condition in my elevation but may need to be tuned if the buyer is in a different area of the country for optimum performance. I never touched the engine, other then cleaning it to paint it. I only rode it a couple miles after the bike was finished, so I don't know the history of it. The front brakes were removed, and the handlebars were replaced with drag style and 6" dogbone risers. The grips are new along with the bright LED headlight and tail lights. There are no turn signals on the bike, but all the wiring is there if your state requires it (rear lights are run/brake but also has wiring for turn). I also left off a mirror, because I felt it took away from the look of the bike, one is not included. The gas tank is a peanut frisco style I bought used. It has scuff marks, and chips and shows signs of wear. I like that look, but if you don't it wont take much to scuff the tank up and shoot some new color on it. The rear fender is the stock front fender turned around backwards. Its been notched in the back to have ample clearance of the shock for the seat. Gas cap is new, and petcock does not leak. All the gauges, tachometer and speedometer work with no problems. The only problem is the ignition, and there is a trick I will show the winner on how to start it. Its more of a theft deterrent then a problem. Over all the bike is in great shape and a blast to ride. The bike has a clear Kansas title and will come with a bill of sale. Buyer must pick up or arrange pickup as soon as possible. I am moving and need to get the bike out of the garage as soon as possible.
