This is a great starting point for someone who wants a diesel land cruiser project. It has rust in the typical places. I have photos of all the rust that I can find and will email to anyone interested. There is rust in the drivers and passengers foot-well, several holes about the size of a thumb nail. The sills have patches where the paint and bog (bondo) have come away but body metal is good just a little dented. The drivers door has a badly corroded corner, the the roof has surface rust and a few holes from aerials that need repairing, the drives side vent flap has a rust hole. The front fenders are a little rough, the hood is rusty where the water collects, the front grill surround has several rust holes and will require a bit of extra work to fix it, but this panel is almost always a problem area. The chassis is good just a little surface rust, the bull bar has been welded to it so that will need to be ground off if you are a purist. The engine starts easily as the glow system works and EDIC motor does not work correctly when the oil pressure sender is connected, the whole electrical system needs going over (bad earths, relays from spotlights etc), the fan motor has a burnt resistor, the headlight plugs look a little burnt. The engine does smoke a bit of diesel and oil at high load, it may have worn rings but there is no noticeable blow by, it spent the last few years on a small farm putting around feeding out and collecting firewood so the bore may be glazed and injectors dirty and or valve stem seals. There is 1 missing stud on the exhaust manifold that is probably broken and the idle stop on the throttle valve is broken. The cooling system works fine, holds coolant with no leaks with a new top radiator hose. The clutch works fine, slave and master hold fluid. The gearbox works well, the gear shifts are good and no strange noises. The transfer works as do the front locking hubs. The brakes work well and the master cylinder holds fluid and looks reasonably new, The interior is rough the drivers seat is not original, the floor mat is rubbish, the head lining is missing, the door trims are ripped, there is an partially installed A/C system, it has an evaporator in place of the air intake to the hearer box, there is no compressor or condenser installed. The ute (pickup) is a right hand drive located in Melbourne Australia. The cost of shipping from Melbourne to LA was around $2500 US last time I checked.
