PLEASE READ MY DESCRIPTION IN ITS ENTIRETY. PLEASE READ MY PAYMENT TERMS. PLEASE READ THE SHIPPING TERMS ALL BEFORE YOU BID. THANK YOU VERY MUCH 1980 Suzuki GS1100 This Suzuki GS1100 is the first year for this bike. The GS1100 was introduced in 1980. It was a direct descendent od the Suzuki GS750. The engine size increased to 1100 c.c.'s. Upon its' introduction, the bike received many accolades, including "Cycle World's" Superbike of the Year 3 years in a row. 4 valves per cylinder, Double overhead cam, Electronic ignition, Five-speed transmission, Box-section aluminum swingarm, dual disc brakes up front and single disc brake in the rear. Cycle Rider magazine ranked this bike 5th on its' list of the most significant motorcycles in the last 35 years. The performance was exceptional. 105 h.p., 0-60 in 4.3 seconds. 1/4 mile time of 11.39 seconds at 118.42 mph and a top speed of almost 140 mph. I purchased my GS1100 from the estate of the original owner of this bike who passed away suddenly and left the bike still sitting in his garage. It was his daily rider The bike sat there for 2 years. The family knew nothing about the bike and does not wish to hear about it ever again. So, I really have no riding history of the bike. So, I brought the bike home and put a new battery in it, drained the fuel which was stale, and flushed out the tank and turned the key on and she fired right up and everything worked. All the lights, signals, etc... The front brake is going to need to be drained and bled and i would recommend doing the same with the rear brake. I would recommend a new front tire. I would recommend that you re-flush the tank and maybe clean the carbs too if you want a perfect running bike. It has a windshield on it when I purchased it and there are 2 smudge marks up of the headlight bucket from where the windshield was mounted. The bike is original with original exhaust. I think the handlebars may or may not be the original bars. The bike still has its' original tool kit with rubber tir down strap secured in the rear cowling behind the seat. The paint is quite nice. There are no dents, no cracks, and no modifications done. So you are buying an original 36 year old bike. There is some surface rusting on the bottom sides of the mufflers but no holes and there is surface rust on the front exhaust headers too as you can see. It is not bad rust but it is there I must point it out to you. The rear tires seems pretty nice. The rims are very straight. The bike shifts through all 5 gears and also the clutch does not slip. I did not see any oil leakage anywhere. The fork seals seem fine and I do not see any seepage there. The throttle seems good and revs good. All that said, you must remember this is a motorcycle that is NOT new. It is a 36 year old bike, OK? So please, if you are looking for some mint condition concours show bike, then this bike is not for you. However, if you are interested in buying a piece of motorcycle history, and a very significant one at that, and if you are willing to do a little work on it or have a mechanic do some work on it for you, then this Suzuki GS1100 might be for you. Like a carb cleaning and tank cleaning and that's about it that I can see. I have done my best to describe the bike as I know it, however, it is possible i could have missed something. You are welcome to ask any questions about the bike and I will do my best to get you the answer. This motorcycle came with a Notarized Bill of Sale and that is how I am selling it to you.
