Vehicle Detail

You're looking at my beautiful UNRESTORED (and very rare one year only oil flapper) 1972 911T sunroof coupe, being offered for sale to the public for the first time in 21 years! That's right! My car has never been restored! The car has always been garaged and lovingly maintained, and has only undergone one quality "windows out" repaint...over 20 years ago! It has held up quite well I must say! It also underwent a "Ziebart" professional undercoating at the same time. As you can see, it looks like it was done yesterday but that was 20+ years ago! The car has been sparingly used as a fair weather weekend cruiser for the last 30 or so years. Basically just kept its legs stretched and the car healthy. The car has 47,XXX original miles per prior ownership history and title. The first owner blew the original 2.4 liter engine a few years after buying the car, and upgraded it rather than a rebuild since numbers matching wasn't a big deal back then. Therefore the engine is no longer numbers matching, but rather now sports a more powerful and relatively freshly rebuilt 2.7 liter (properly rebuilt with time certs and oil fed chain tensioner...roughly 10-15k miles since rebuild a few years ago) with Weber carbs. The carbs were just rebuilt and tuned last week, along with a fresh oil/filter change. The car drives very strong. Suspension is nice and tight, handles fantastic! It does not smoke at startup nor while driving, and has very minimal weeping. Engine is very dry as you can see in the pics. The engine compartment sports a new firewall pad and a fresh detail. The car runs and drives very strong. The 5 speed original tranny shifts beautifully and there are no synchro issues at all. Clutch is great. It's one of the best shifting early cars I've owned, and I've owned quite a few over the years. All brakes are freshly rebuilt and the tires are like new. The car has zero underside rust and all floor pans are original to the car. The floors under the carpet are beautiful! The car is extremely solid. There are a few small bubbles on the rockers and headlight area and a small ding by the rear deck lid, but nothing significant. All panel gaps are very good and the doors close with the classic "Porsche ping". The windshield has a small crack across the passenger top corner. All other glass is excellent. Rare and valuable original fog lights. All lights, turn signals and gauges work (except clock). The front pan was replaced due to battery corrosion (not rust) back in the early 90's when the car received its one and only repaint (a little darker grey than the factory 936-9-3 bright silver metallic paint code). The front trunk is tidy and the car has all five matching date coded Fuchs rims. I do not have the tool kit anymore. This is a factory sunroof coupe (motor is working but cables are either stuck or broken) with dealer installed AC. It also sports an all original interior including original carpet, seat covers (front and rear), headliner and door panels, however the dash was recovered when they painted the car in the early 90's. The door pockets are all there but need restored/recovered (the passenger side tilt pocket is laid behind passenger seat). I started removing them to restore but have since decided to sell the car. Overall the interior is very nice for 44 years old! The seats show virtually no wear. The driver's side seat is an extremely rare and valuable factory Sport Seat with tilt base. This seat alone is worth nearly $10,000 if not more! The under dash AC unit is there but the compressor was removed years ago and I no longer have. The car had a quality windows out paint job done 20+ years ago, and it still turns heads! It has held up quite well but has several light scratches and tiny dings. It will buff out and look great from 5-10', but the car deserves to be repainted in its original bright silver metallic. This is again an exceptional UNRESTORED car other than one repaint and it's an excellent driver! It is a highly valuable and an easily restored car, but I would just enjoy it as it is...they're only original once! Get in, turn the key, and enjoy immediately! I am a private collector thinning down my personal collection. Car will come with a vintage Virginia license plate for car shows/cruise in nights. Car is located at my home in Conway, SC (Myrtle Beach area). I will gladly sell to oversees buyers. Shipping is your responsibility. Payment via bank wire is preferred. Serious bidders only please! This is not a game. I require a $500 PayPal deposit immediately following the auction, and the remaining balance to be wired to my bank account within 3 business days. Please have your finances in order and permission from your spouse, boss, priest or whomever may crush your dream of owning this very special car. Car is for sale in other venues so auction may end at any time. Feel free to make an offer to end the auction early. All sales final. No warranties expressed or implied. Thanks for looking and happy bidding! On Feb-20-16 at 06:43:48 PST, seller added the following information: Engine serial number is 6144238, which designates it as a 1974 engine.
