Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE 1979 Porsche 911 SC Targa History: I purchased this car in 2000 as an anniversary gift for my wife (although she hardly ever drove it). I purchased it through my brother-in-law (owner of Stuttgart Automotive in Los Angeles) who had been maintaining the car for over 10 years. I believe I am the second owner. The prior owner (a Beverly Hills attorney) decided to sell her car and upgrade to a Boxster after the first gear synchro wore out. It came with a newly rebuilt transmission and clutch. I paid a premium for the car based on its condition, and have worked to maintain the car for the 15 years that I’ve own it. Here is a list of some of the work I had done: 1) Front seats recovered in German leather, faded carpet replaced, and new German vinyl Targa top (All work done by Original Fit Interiors). 2) Upgraded the Fuchs wheels: 7x16’s on the front, and hard to find 8x16’s on the rear. 3) New windshield (and seal) that is super clear compared to the old one that was over 20 years old. 4) Wheel alignment to include “corner balancing” done by Custom Alignment in Mountain View, CA. (I had no idea how much the corner balancing would improve the car’s handling performance). If you don’t about corner balancing, read here: callasrennsport + dot com, forward slash + corner-balancing-step-suspension-upgrade 5) Upgraded Alpine stereo and speakers to include a separate CD changer. 6) Have always used Mobil 1 synthetic oil. 7) New fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs, belts, heater hoses, A/C compressor, etc. In summary, the car is great shape considering it is over 35 years old. It runs great, handles great, and all the interior restoration work has been done using imported German materials. The car could really benefit from new paint job, as it is now starting to look quite tired. There are a couple of minor rust spots, but nothing extensive. I am looking to find a new owner that will cherish driving this car as much as I have. I am selling the car “As Is”, with the understanding that based on the vintage, you are likely find things that you will want to refresh/replace. If you are not able to fly to Hawaii to look at the car, please take the time to ask me any questions you might have. I am eager to share what I know about the car.Buyer is responsible for covering all shipping costs.
