Vehicle Detail
You are looking at an all original and completely refreshed 1985 Honda Sabre. This bike with only 7,000 miles was completely gone over from top to bottom: Fluids, Cams/Rocker Arms, Brakes, New Tires, Fork Seals, Valves with resurfaced Heads and the addition of an aftermarket Dave Dodge top end oiler kit to take care of the only known design flaw in these bikes. The oil kit moves additional oil from the sump to the top end. This fix was $300 for the kit and another $200 in labor. I have all the repair paperwork from JDS Cycles in Roselle Park, NJ and warranties on the work will transfer to the new owner (See Photos for Description of Work, Expenses, and Replaced Parts). This time capsule bike is State of the Art for it's day and has many features not found on many bikes today. It has low maintenance shaft drive and is water cooled, with LED readouts on engine temp and gear selection. This is a 6 speed overdrive bike with red line at 11,000 RPM. The bike is QUICK and does everything it was designed to do. Another plus is that I have had it registered as "Historic"...(25+ years old) so it won't need to be registered each year in New Jersey... and only papered every 4 years, which is FREE. Included is a free bike cover and we can talk about a new Bell helmet for a few dollars more. Very user friendly starter bike. Total for bike purchase and restoration was $5,000+++ ... My loss is your gain! *** I will be happy to answer any and all of your questions if you contact me prior to the conclusion of the sale. Bid with Confidence, this bike needs nothing but if you choose, you can have it detailed. I like the original patina and don't want to be sliding off an Armour All seat! Your choice once it's yours. Full disclosure on the only two issues I can find is that the rear turn signal stem is angled down a bit, maybe 10 degrees and there is a dime sized "ding" in the front fender. But with that said, this bike will win Best In Show as one of the prime examples of an all original Honda Sabre in the country!!! Take a look at the Freddie Spenser vs. 300zx vs. Honda Sabre video on the Internet to see this bike in action! See this bike on YouTube at the following link...
