This is a quick sale My transmission just gave out. this car is a great runner, but needs some tlc - it was my "commute to work car" and did 150 miles a day round trip. When I did the carfax (when I bought it) it had NO accidents or reports on it. I have driven it ever since - no accidents/fender benders dings etc ACCIDENT SHOWING UP IN THE AUTOCHECK REPORT I OWNED THIS VEHICLE IN FEB 2014 when the accident was reported on it - THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT - I HAVE A PERFECTLY CLEAN 25 YEAR ACCIDENT FREE DRIVING RECORD!!!! The only thing I can think of is when my wife's audi got a chip in the windshield and we claimed that on the insurance - but that should not be attached to this VIN?? UPDATE 2/9/2016 9:00am I contacted Autocheck who are "researching". They claim an accident could have occurred before I bought the car in April 2013 - but not reported until February 2014. That is just preposterous. In any event - the car has always run just fine - but I will continue to update as soon as I know more details. It has 2 brand new (last month) rear tires, the front two will need replaced in about 3000 miles. The interior is in good condition BUT it's not very clean at the moment. A good detailing will sort that out. The exterior is okay - for a car of its age. The car DOES NOT drive at the moment. The engine starts just fine - but the transmission does not engage. It either needs a new transmission - or it needs (more likely I think) a rebuild. It is simply NOT economical for me to pay for a rebuild or new transmission. The engine made a sound like a belt had snapped inside and was spinning around hitting the walls of the tranny block - which is why I think it is the transmission. Again, the vehicle turns over and idles just fine - so I am 99.9% certain it is the transmission. Other issues: the reversing light have not been coming on lately - you can wiggle the gear stick and they will come on - but there seems to be some disconnect - I think this is probably related to the transmission problem. It had started leaking what I THOUGHT was oil initially, but I now think was transmission fluid. I think the gasket or sealer ring or whatever it is deteriorated, the fluid leaked out, and this caused the transmission to fail. There is also an issue with the power controls on the front passenger seat. which makes it difficult to adjust. the cup holder in the center console is broken and the passenger power window - although it works perfectly - is not "seated" properly - I have not tried to force it - so a Mercedes person or savvy mechanic needs to look at it. the a/c panel does not light up - when I got the car this was the way it was - I paid 1200 (yes 1200) for a new unit and that light went out after 1 year too - the ac and heat still work - you will want to service it though. The ac in this car has never run "ice cold" (which is how I like it) but it will cool you down nicely on a hot day :) I am listing this for a super quick sale - this would be a great car for someone wanting to turn a quick profit - or for your kid's first car if you want something rugged but not too expensive. I am happy to answer ANY questions - but I am not a big "car" guy so if you get too technical - I may not be able to help. I have personally driven over 100,000 miles in this car - and this is the first problem I have had - I rode her hard and did not service her regularly apart from oil changes - so she's been a little hard done to. I cannot be more honest and upfront than that. YOU WILL NEED TO COME AND TOW THIS CAR!!! It is currently in the parking lot at my work in Irvine California 92606. If it does not sell quickly - I will donate it to the Wounded Warrior Project - so I am really not too interested in haggling over it - if you win the auction - you own the car - end of story. If you are looking for a cherry on top - this car has its ORIGINAL 3.5 tonne cell phone ;) (it's not that heavy - but you get the idea. The crappy bit: I am not here for fun and games - BIDDING FORMS A BINDING CONTRACT and I am selling this vehicle as is - totally as is - No lemon law does not apply - that's why I have been as honest as possible about this vehicle. No - you may not try and haggle the price down once you've bought it because "it has a little scratch right there" or "well I didn't know it did not have blue tooth capability" - if you are even remotely that kind of person - find another auction or come check the car out before bidding.
