Up for sale is my 1968 VW Beetle in nearly perfect condition. It went through a minor restoration a few years ago. The car is very clean and well maintained. If this car needed something, I bought it. It has been garage kept and minimally driven since that time. Originally was an Autostick however now has a freeway flyer 4 speed. "Automatic" badging remains on the rear deck lid. The good: -Well maintained and unmolested. It doesn't appear that this car has ever been involved in an accident. -Recently passed Delaware state inspection with no issues the first time. I am positive it would pass any state's inspection process, if your state requires one for antique vehicles. -California car. Absolutely no rust anywhere. Pans are perfect. This car is not driven in the elements, is garage kept and is near perfect mechanically and cosmetically. -Original owners manual and supporting documents. Also, car comes with a tool kit that I am told was original to the car. -Very smooth running 1500cc motor coupled with newer freeway flyer transmission. Most likely not the original motor. Odometer says approx 112k. New freeway flyer 4 speed professionally installed in 2012. When installed, motor was placed on an engine stand and tuned. New muffler and new oil pump with spin on oil filter installed at that time. Driven approximately 600 miles and 2 oil changes since then. I have all the service records for the last 10 years. -Brand new battery w/ 2 year warranty. -Newer urethane bushings on front suspension. -Recent brake work -One key for all doors and ignition -Pertronix Electronic Ignition -Hella H4 Headlamps -Perfect headliner and interior -Original VW factory roof rack WILL go with the car. Also willing to throw in a set of uncovered lowback VW seats to the winning bidder. The not so good.. -Original cargo area mat is torn in a few places. New ones can be found for next to nothing online. -Passenger side window rubber scraper is dryrotted. All other seals are new. In spite of these two items, you won't find a cleaner, more well maintained, original 48 year old vehicle out there. I am open to helping arrange a shipper however I don't have much experience with that. I could also possibly deliver the car within the Mid-Atlantic Region (i.e. Maryland, Virginia, PA, NY, etc.) within reason using my truck and trailer for a small fee, basically the cost of a trailer rental. Other states can be discussed. I would not hesitate to drive this car across the country. It is mechanically solid and needs nothing. I am selling it to clear out space and downsize so I can move. I've been the caretaker of this car since 2006 and know it's a great find, particularly in the rusty northeast.
