Vehicle Detail

I am the original owner, and I am selling my Obsidian Black Pearl 2005 Subaru STi that has been modified; engine build and parts have been professionally installed by EFI Logics in Connecticut. No accidents, never had any mechanical defects or damage, I have taken care of this car very well, and I would say that the vehicle is in excellent condition. The car has 175,000 miles on it. Please see below for modifications, and please contact me if you wish to see pictures of anything in particular. I do not want to sell the car and I had full plans to gut the interior, put in a roll cage, and turn it into a weekend racer. I would rather sell the car to someone who will appreciate it and drive it like it was meant to be driven.Have you ever raced the car?- Yes. I did one day of drag racing at Island dragway and ran a 12.5 @ 109mph BEFORE my current motor build and turbo install. I also did one race day at the Pocono north course, and one race day at Limerock in Connecticut. When did you do the engine build?- Around 97,000 miles. Why the motor build and a 2010 STi block?- I just need to state that there was nothing wrong with the original motor; I simply wanted a bigger turbo and a proper engine build to withstand more power than for what I was planning. The 2010 block has a better crank shaft than the 2005 block, and the 2010 oil pump has a larger inlet and outlet to push more oil and reduce the chance of engine damage from oil starvation. I was planning on upgrading the internal components only, but figured since the engine was going to be out I decided to replace the lower end with a better starting point. The current engine build can easily handle a GT-35r turbo. What power and torque is the car putting out?- It was professionally tuned with 93 octane at EFI Logics in Connecticut on a Mustang Dynamometer. With current upgrades, the car is putting down 390hp and 395tq to the wheels with 24 lbs of boost. The tuner stated that there is about a 30-35% drivetrain loss on the dyno with these cars, so you are looking at around 500hp at the crank. What fluids do you use and other regular maintenance items?- Oil has always been Valvoline 5w40 Synpower full synthetic. Factory recommends 5w30 oil but after the turbo upgrade and engine build, my engine builder recommended a heavier weight. Changed every 5-6,000 miles.- Oil filters have been the Subaru "black" filters, but I switched to Bosch since I am unable to find the black Subaru filters anymore.- Transmission oil is Motul.- Rear differential fluid is Motul.- Radiator fluid is factory Subaru with Subaru radiator conditioner and distilled water.Does the car burn any fluids?- No. Never. Zip. Zilch. I regularly check my oil and change it religiously and it has never burned oil between changing. Same with the radiator, transmission, and differential fluids. Are you a smoker?- No, and no one has ever smoked in my car. The interior is in great shape and cleaned very well. What is wrong with the car?- Mechanically and visually there is nothing wrong with the car. This car has been my daily driver through all seasons and has never let me down. I would feel comfortable jumping into the car right now, driving across the country and never expect anything to go wrong with it. I have really taken care of this car from top to bottom and it runs really well. What kind of gas mileage does the car get?- If I drive all highway, the car will get around 26-28 mpg while driving at a good pace. Normal everyday driving, the car will average 22 mpg.Is the car street friendly?- I would say yes with a few caveats. The Sparco seat are really comfortable, they are labeled as touring seats, have lumbar support, and can recline (I have driven from NJ to Ohio in these and I would say they are more comfortable than stock and have not caused any fatigue). The steering and handling are very road friendly. The clutch is a heavy duty ceramic clutch, which means it is heavier than stock; it is my daily driver and I am comfortable in traffic, but it will take some getting used to. Some may consider the car to be a bit loud; it doesn't bother me, but I do enjoy loud cars. Also, please understand a few things about this car prior to bidding:1. It is very powerful and I would not recommend this car to an inexperienced driver.2. The car is a 6 speed manual, all wheel drive, has very low gearing from the factory, and it will hit 60 mph in the top of second gear. Why do I mention this? The amount of torque from the engine, coupled with low gear ratios, means you will hit 60 mph very quickly, while changing gears once. Most cars, especially American V8s, will hit 60 mph in first gear. This car is very fast.3. It accelerates very, very quickly. I will say this as a car enthusiast and not a brand loyalist, but I would say that many people have never driven in, let alone driven, a powerful AWD manual sports car. It will scare you and demands respect.4. The car has a lockable center differential and comes with Blizzak snow tires. This means that while it drives extremely well in the snow, it will not save you if you accelerate too quickly, drive too fast, brake too hard, or attempt to "drift" around a corner. Please feel free to contact me with any questions about the car. I understand that this is a very modified car and some people may be concerned or uncomfortable about bidding or buying the car. I will be open and honest about the car and answer your questions to help alleviate any concerns. Thank you for viewing. Shipping:- I want to keep this a local sale only please. I would be willing to drive up to 1 hour to meet the buyer. Payment:- Cash only please.
