Vehicle Detail
SCROLL DOWN FOR PICTURES You are looking at what is probably one of the nicest remaining Civic VX's in existence. This is one of the 49 state lean burn VX's with the wide band O2 sensor. If you are looking at this ad, you know that these cars were rare when they were new, accounting for only 1% of total civic production from 1992-1995. The VX was a nearly $1500 option that didn't sell well with gas being only $1 a gallon. Most of these cars have been wrecked, rusted away, or modified and had their original engines pulled out. I have owned this car for over 5 years. I spent a couple of years looking for one of these after having another one that was rusted due to being from the east coast. The car has gotten a consistent 50-57 MPG since I have owned it. When I got the car, it was an original Arizona car and completely rust free. There is no hint of corrosion anywhere on this car, it is as clean as the day it was new. I went through the car from front to back and replaced lots of things to make the car like new again. I replaced all of the suspension including shocks/struts, ball joints, bushings, engine mounts, clutch master/slave cylinders. A/C compressor, clutch , distributor and so on. Most of it was replaced with genuine Honda parts. I even spent the $500 on a brand new genuine Honda steering rack, just because I replaced the rest of the suspension.. The car also has new correct Honda Exhaust. The interior is in fantastic shape. The seats are like new, the dash and headliner are in great shape. It has brand new carpet front and back and I installed dynamat to help keep the car quite. Everything works as it did when the car was new, it has hot heat and cold A/C. These cars where never offered with cruise control, but I work on electronics for a living and took the FACTORY (not a cheap aftermarket) cruise system out of another civic and wired it into this car, which makes it fantastic to drive on long trips. The car has brand new(less then 500 miles) Michelin low rolling resistance tires on the factory 13 inch Einke aluminum rims. I bought and drove this car because of its uniqueness, and phenomenal milage. The car has an MPGuino (MPG display on the dash) and always made a game of trying to get to 60MPG. I used the car to commute between Arizona and Vermont and needed a car that was 100% reliable and so I spared no expense in maintaining it. It may have some miles on it, but you would never know it from driving the car. The engine burns zero oil and runs smooth and strong(always use Mobil 1 full synthetic), the transmission is smooth and tight with no issues. It was not treated like a cheap car, and for being a 20 year old Civic is in extremely good condition. Of course it is still 20 years old hand has its small flaws. The paint shines and looks very nice, but of course has random rock chips, and one small spot right by the antenna where the paint has peeled but it is almost not noticeable. The car is very straight and has no dents or dings anywhere on it. I planned on having the car forever, but I no longer commute across the country and no longer need it. I love the car so much that I even have a correct spare VX engine in great condition (from my last VX) with only 100,000 miles on it that can be negotiated into the deal if the buyer would like. If you are looking for a Civic VX, this is your car. You aren't going to find one surviving in its original condition in this kind of shape. I would drive this car anywhere. I will be happy to help the buyer ship this, or pick them up at the DFW airport. Please let me know if you have any questions, I have a wealth of knowledge about this car and will be happy to discuss it with any interested persons. Thank you.
