FIRST OFF WE ARE RELUCTANTLY SELLING MY WIFE'S GRANDFATHERS MUSTANG BECAUSE WE LIVE IN A H.O.A AND CANT WORK ON THE CAR OR STORE IT TO KEEP IT...One picture below is of my wife's Grampa with his Mustang before he gave it to my wife..He only gave it up because he was 81 years old and passed of cancer. Original one owner 1966 Ford Mustang, 96,000 original Box A miles.This Mustang belonged to my wife's grandpa and was purchased new by him in 1966.. He purchased it on July 5th 1966 from Don Sanderson ford here in Glendale Arizona for the price of $2,520.00 The mustang was built in San Jose California, The original color is Sauterne gold metallic. The car came with a C4 Automatic transmission and a V-8 289 2bbl with the Pony package interior.NOW DETAILS ABOUT THE CAR....The mustang was parked in 1996 after only having 14,000 miles being put on the new engine... Its been sitting covered for 19 years it will have its needs to get her back up and going down the road,,, Fuel line,,, Belts,,, Hoses,, Plugs,,,Wires,, Oil changed,, New tires ,,battery and a few other small things a total cost of about $1,200 to $1,500 to get her going down the road driving again...DETAILS ON THE ENGINEMy wife's grandfather has owned this from new and took good care of this car as he worked for a Ford dealer in the parts department for 26 years so he was a gear head at heart.. The engine has been rebuilt and is bored over to a 302..with only 14,000 miles on it from rebuild. The engine has a 4 BBl Carter 650 cfm carb,, Edelbrock intake,, Headmann headers,,, Flowmaster exhaust,,, Isky cam with .445 lift,,, Erson roller rockers,, Comp cams lifters,, Comp cams push rods,,, Forged TRW pistons,,Electronic ignition, Clevite bearings and a little bit of head work done for better flow. Chrome Ford oil pan and Valve covers..The transmission is a built C-4 with a hardened input shaft up graded clutch plates and a Hughes Racing torque converter 2500 stall.Ford 9 inch rear end.. Dont know gear size..INTERIOR DETAILSAll of the interior is original and in decent shape for a 49 year old car.. Soon to be 50.....The only aftermarket thing is the radio and aftermarket floor mats ,, we have the factory 66 radio for it that came with it.. This is a factory A/C car with power steering. This Mustang had the pony packageDETAILS ON EXTERIORRust...The only rust in this mustang is in the front right side lower door...it has a small spot... See picture.. .. The drivers side door has more small size rust bubbles the size of a pencil head at the biggest...The rust can be fixed very easy to save the original doors.The rust was due too a leaky door seals from the dry heat of the Az sun baking on it for years ( SEE PICS ),,, The floors, Rear quarters,, Front fenders, Trunk and rear package tray are all dry and solid,, The doors close and open like new..Zero door sag.. The trunk and hood open and close like new..Good clean gas tank.. All Panels ,,Doors / trunk / hood Ect are original to this car. Good glass with no cracksOriginal Chrome trim pony package, Needs paint..Its sitting on old 14 inch Cragar SS rims and BFG tires.. THE TIRES HOLD AIR BUT ARE DRY ROTTED!DOCUMENTATION..We have a Big black tote My wife's grandpa kept full or every receipt from the day he purchased it new... Receipts for every part he purchased,,,Any service he had done to the car we have over $14,000 in receipts and all original documentation from new... Original factory Ford keys,,Factory Ford manual,,, Original Historic Arizona license plates. Original shop manuals from Ford.TRUNK.... The trunk has lots of original parts and pieces from the car,, See Pictures...
