Vehicle Detail

1970 Plymouth Duster in its original FJ5 Limelight Green with black bucket seat interior and console shift automatic. It is an EFI 408ci (360 stroker), with 727 automatic transmission, 4 wheel disc brakes and Classic Auto Air. This car began life as a /6, column shift automatic. The original color FJ5 was the only eye-catching option the car came with so there was no reason to restore it back to 100% original. After years of hunting parts and trying to decide on what direction to go. We decided to go with the look of a 71 340 Duster with the V21 blackout hood. The car was converted to bucket seats and console shift with original parts. It has the correct 340 rallye dash along with new wiring front to back and the correct 340 air cleaner. This was a 4 year project that is fully documented from beginning to end and is basically a new car. It has all the good parts front to back, top to bottom and I have the receipts! TTi exhaust system (ceramic coated full length), Dynomax mufflers, US Car Tool Subframe connectors, Firm Feel Stage 2 steering box, Dr. Diff 4 wheel disc brakes (11.75 front/10.7 rear rotors) with slotted and cross drilled rotors, 8.75 rear end with 3.55 Auburn diff and Dr Diff hardened axles, Bilstein shocks, Champion radiator, complete Legendary Auto Interior, Weld Pro Stars, BFG tires, MSD Atomic fuel injection, Hot Rod City Garage aluminum fuel tank for EFI (stock location tank), 73 spool type K member, Mopar Performance .920 torsion bars and many other things. The car was painted on a rotisserie and the bottom is body color with LizardSkin for protection. The rear end housing, K-member and control arms were powercoated. The original bumpers were rechromed and the window trim was restored by Concourse Trim LLC. The brake booster was sent to Booster Dewey to be rebuilt and replated. The motor was machined and built by D&L Automotive and Machine. It is a 9.5:1 408ci motor that was dyno tested on 4/16/2013 (before it went in the car) at 457hp @ 5700 RPM. Torque rating at 3600 was 489.6ft lbs. D&L also built the transmission and rear end. The car was completed in 2013 and has probably 400 miles on it since. It is a very nice car that still has a few bugs that need to be worked out. Example, the factory tach does not work with the MSD Atomic setup and the fuel gauge works but does not read correct. It shows it is almost empty and only takes 5 gallons to top it off. Horn is not working. I bought the car in 2005 and started collecting parts for it. The project got started in 2009. The build was fully documented from beginning to end. It is not a Mopar O.E. correct or concours correct show car, but it is a really nice car that can be driven and enjoyed. Please do not bid unless you plan to follow through with the purchase. The car is located in Amarillo, Texas and the buyer is responsible for picking it up here in Amarillo. The car is for sale locally. I reserve the right to end the auction early. On Dec-15-15 at 08:34:25 PST, seller added the following information: If you have any questions please call me at 682-225-0901. Please do not bid if you do not intend to follow through. The car was listed with a reserve and the reserve has been met. On Dec-16-15 at 12:42:47 PST, seller added the following information: The receipts that I have total $34448.21 and that does not include the parts that I bought at swap meets or from other sources (360 motor, 727 core, rallye dash frame, rallye dash cluster core, bucket seats, console linkage, and 8 .75 rear end to name a few). That total also does not include the cost of the car when I bought it. I know there are a few receipts that got misplaced at the shop when they built the car. On Dec-17-15 at 19:12:12 PST, seller added the following information: Bidder sent me an email to cancel his bid. If you are interested in buying, bid. If you are not interested in buying PLEASE do not bid.
