Vehicle Detail
2004 Saleen Mustang SC 281 #15912,180 milesFord 4.6L 281 supercharged, 375hp / 415ft lb5 spdI am a Saleen enthusiast. I know and love Saleen Mustangs. I am also very particular about my cars, completely obsessive about condition. This Saleen SC 281 convertible wears bumper number 159. I am the 2nd owner. I have put only 15 miles on this car in a little over a year. It has spent all of its time getting baby love and stored under cover. It originally sold in Florida to a car enthusiast, who kept it in good condition. It was never driven in bad weather and kept in a garage since new.I purchased a Letter of Authenticity from Saleen. This Saleen #159 is a 1 of 1 with its color scheme and options. It has black top, exterior and interior. It is completely stock, 100% original and has NEVER been modified. It has been signed by Steve Saleen inside the glove box.Saleen made 109 convertibles in 2004.... and this is a 1 or 1 out of those 109. I would categorize this one as one of the best that I am aware that still exists. Of 109 built, maybe 10% exist in collectible condition. It is my opinion, but the 2004 Saleens were the best looking of the 99-04 generation and the iteration of the 281 2v motor. All 2004 Saleens came with the special 2002-2004 Extreme body kit, with the centered dual exhaust tips, rear bumper and spoiler. The only flaws, which are minor, are; a small paint chip on the left fender above the 281 badge. It is shown with my finger for size and scale. It happened during the 1st owner's tenure, not mine. It does not detract from the overall appearance of the car, and could be easily remedied. There are some rock chips on the front, as well as the scuffs to the underside of the front spoiler. There isn't a Saleen in existence that I have seen that DOESN'T have scuffs on the front spoilers. It will happen over speed bumps at parking lot speeds. Saleens are lower to the ground than average Mustangs, Cobras included (which look like 4x4's compared to Saleens). This Saleen will come with a new aftermarket wind deflector screen. I purchased the screen from a well know member of the Saleen community. He produces a high quality reproduction wind deflector screen. I never installed it yet. So, the buyer will receive this screen too.It will include all documentation: original purchaser's sales contract, Ford manual, Saleen Manual, Window Sticker, and LOA.This Saleen is sexy and ready to collect and store or cruise around. One of the pics shows the depth of the quality of the paint. I spend about 20 hours doing a slow, methodical 4 stage detail. It is swirl free, black liquid. The pic shows the reflection from the paint; distortion free. That is how obsessive I am. The undercarriage has been detailed too... one could eat off the underside of this car. Again, I spent about 2 days, wiping and cleaning things with armour all all purpose cleaner and Mother's detailer spray... the mufflers shine of pure polished aluminum. This shows with a brand new aftermarket wheel-set, it will NOT come with these. It will have the original Saleen wheels and have NEW Pirelli PZero tires. If you're interested in including this wheel-set, it can be negotiated.
