Vehicle Detail
One-of-kind extreme off-road Toyota Tacoma. 2008 Double Cab, 4x4. This is one the most amazing Tacoma's on the road. Everything modification to this truck was designed to make it unstoppable off-road while retaining daily driver reliability, and on-road driving habits. Beautiful metallic black paint. Rims, bumpers, and soft top are black, giving it an aggressive look. Interior is in great shape due to Weathertech mats all around and Okole seat covers (driver's cover does have wear, but seat is perfect - see picture). Paint is in great shape. There are a few small dings and scratches from regular use, but nothing detracting from the beauty of this truck (see pictures). Pocket fender flares to aid in tire coverage (required in some states for legality, but necessary for keeping the road debris off the body). Typical Toyota reliability in the engine and driveline. 71k miles, but that will increase a little due to daily driver. Vehicle is currently inspected and plated. Here are the modifications performed: -ARB lockers, front and rear with ARB compressor. All controlled from rocker switches in cab. -Smittybuilt XRC8 winch mounted in one of best front bumpers you can buy. Synthetic line on winch. Winch is controlled by rocker switch in cab. -Armor Tech Offroad (ATO) front bumper and Armor Tech Offroad IFS front skid plate. -35” tires mounted (close to new) on XD Revolver 17X9” rims. Full-size spare mounted on amazingly built rear bumper with swing out tire carrier. -ATO Hybrid high-clearance rear bumper includes mount for rear LED lights, the spare tire carrier, and rear quarter panel protectors. You won't find a better quality rear bumper. -Hood vent is functional (removed the block to allow heat to escape when crawling speed over rocks). -Gas struts for hood. -Pioneer AVH-P4300DD. -All in-cab lights are converted to LED. -6k HID headlamps up front (slim ballast) -LED rock lights and LED lights in bed of truck. -LED Monster Fog lights -LightForce 240 Blitz Spot Lights -LED reverse lights -All switches for lights are same make, illuminated, and labeled. Also wired from auxiliary fuse block mounted in engine bay. -Wired for CB with mount for antenna in bed. -Besttop soft topper. This is one of the best made as it collapses quick to allow full use of bed, has removable windows, keeps the bed of the truck dry, and still attaches tight enough to not flap around at highway speeds. -All Pro custom sliders tied into frame rails. -ATO custom skid plates on transfer case, transmission, and fuel tank - these are 3/16" steel and protect truck’s vital components from rocks. -Custom exhaust gives this Tacoma a nice throaty note when accelerating, but doesn't drone out in the cab. -Amazing suspension: Toytec Ultimate with Light Racing upper control arms. Bulletproof components that allow great travel, yet well poised and not bone jarring ride on the road. No shimmy or shakes and alignment is perfect, it goes down the the interstate at 70-75mph with no concerns. Front: Adjustable King Shocks w/ remote reservoirs up front. LR UCAs - great travel and ride out of this set up. Rear: All Pro Expo thin multi-leaf springs w/ military wrap. Bilstien 5100 shock that allow great travel of rear suspension. -Extended brake lines to accommodate increased wheel travel. -Axle breather tubs are extended in mounted in bed of truck -Re-geared with Nitro Thick Cut 4.56 front and rear gears. -AFE Pro Dry Air Filter. -Safari snorkel. -Thick-wall .134 rear drive shaft. The only thing I would do to this truck to make it perfect is add a rear back-up camera (the Pioneer DVD head unit has a direct plug in and application) less aggressive road tires (the tires on it are designed for off-road, but do resonate sound on the road, particularly at interstate freeway speeds, Martin Crawler dual transfer case for even lower gearing for rock crawling, and an expedition rack over the soft top to make it a pioneering vehicle. What makes this truck amazing is that it is unstoppable off-road yet maintains good road manners for a daily driver. Reasonable gas mileage of about 14mpg and everything works as it should with exception of electronic compass due to where a bank of rocker switches are located. I have a lot of pictures and videos of this truck, so if you are serious and want to see more, please contact me and I will send more pictures to you. As you can see from the original window sticker and manuals, this truck has been well cared and has the typical Toyota reliability in every function. This is the second time we have listed this Tacoma on Ebay due to winning bidder didn't make deposit requirement or communicate intentions. We are selling due to military orders and three other vehicles, so while we hate to see it go, hope whoever purchases enjoys the quality and reliability of Toyota with unlimited off-road potential of this truck due to well thought out selected premium modifications. This is a no reserve auction, but first bid is set at 20,500 - I would rather put it in storage for a few years than to give away this truck given the cost of modifications and years of reliability left in her. If you have less than a 10-bid history or less than 95% rating, please contact me before bidding, so I can assess the seriousness of your bid; I apologize for that, but have had a few cases where I am not sure if bidder was really prepared to paid for item. Shipping and or pick-up is responsibility of the buyer, although I will work with buyer to assist to include driving a short distance for link-up if that is more efficient for us both. UPDATE: Apologize to all for delay in reply to numerous questions, I have been out of town. The following is update to address some of the questions: The reason we are selling is due to not able to take as many vehicles as we would like to next duty station. We (my son and I) are second owners. We originally bought it for him, but given the move and limited ability to take additional vehicles, he opted to keep our full-size F150 project truck. We bought it because we were familiar with the build and owner's care of the truck. This truck was built with meticulous care for maintaining the reliability of a daily driver with extreme off-road capability. An example of this is the wiring for the lights, compressor, winch, CB (pre-wiring), and lockers; all done via separate circuits from auxiliary fuse box. The truck requires nothing to serve as daily driver now. The only thing I think the new owner should consider is new set of less aggressive tires if it is to be mainly street driven. Everything on the truck works as it should with exception of tire pressure monitoring systems (XD rims don't have the sensors) and the headliner trip computer (clock, compass) - it was disconnect when installing the switches in headliner console and is easy to re-power. -It does have power mirrors, no power seats, no rear window defroster, but everything that was originally on the truck works as when new with the exceptions noted in previous sentence. -The below are links to videos of truck taken today (you.tube.com/) attribution_link?a=Yl3PgADALrw&u=/watch%3Fv%3D3NS9iqbq39E%26feature%3Dem-upload_owner attribution_link?a=Yl3PgADALrw&u=/watch%3Fv%3Dy4DTYGD7rsg%26feature%3Dem-upload_owner attribution_link?a=Yl3PgADALrw&u=/watch%3Fv%3DeBqBP3D1mT0%26feature%3Dem-upload_owner attribution_link?a=Yl3PgADALrw&u=/watch%3Fv%3DSjMVxC2IvWI%26feature%3Dem-upload_owner attribution_link?a=Yl3PgADALrw&u=/watch%3Fv%3DpozMsKnoCLo%26feature%3Dem-upload_owner attribution_link?a=Yl3PgADALrw&u=/watch%3Fv%3Dj4XB69Q6iAc%26feature%3Dem-upload_owner Thank you for your interest.
