Up for bid is a 1961 Mercury Comet Coupe, 6 cylinder, with 3 on the tree. This car is all Original with the exception of a recent paint job (MATRIX System Black base and Clear coat), new headliner and aftermarket mirrors. Carpet appears to have been replaced by previous owner. This is a Very Very nice driver quality car. Shows some signs of wear on the chrome and trim (expected for 54 years old) but overall a very nice car. Lower part of front seat recently recovered the rest of interior was left alone see pictures. Engine runs strong with no leaks. Has good radial tires and original Mercury Hub caps and Trim Rings. This car really turns heads when driven to Cruise-ins or around towm locally. There is plenty of potential to go all out Hot Rod or completely restore . Ill leave that up to the next owner.I bought this car from an older gentelman that just couldnt finish it or put it back together after it was prepped for paint. Everthing (chrome trim pieces) was in boxes. Mechanically the car runs and Drives excellent.This would be and excellent car for cruise-ins etc. plus they make excellent Hot Rods and low riders too.
