Vehicle Detail
Selling my toy. I bought this truck when I was a kid and drove it all over the country in the Navy. I am the third owner. The original owner decided that small blocks are for girls and put in a 454. It was a bone stock motor but still made more horse than the tires would put to the ground. So, I got bigger tires. And a 4 inch lift to fit them. Being a 4x4 I took it off roading. I then started breaking things. It was fun. It was also expensive. I have been through every part of this truck from front to rear. The last thing I wrecked was the engine. Water down the intake at full on hammered down. Managed to save the heads, the rest was junk. So I found another block and crank, ordered a rebuild kit and sent it to the machine shop. Got the motor dropped in the engine bay and life called me away. Didn't even get the oil pump primed. So, it just sat in the shop for awhile until the space was needed for other things, while a few parts "disappeared". I hate seeing it just sit there and rust like that so, I am offering it here in the hope that someone will buy it and enjoy it as much as I have. Here is a run down of the equipment. 5 core radiator and high flow detached trans cooler, 454 V8, 750 cfm holley 4bbl, edelbrock intake, hooker headers with flowmaster mufflers(dual exhaust), th350 transmission equipped with a th 400 converter (furnace brazed, anti ballooning plate, 950 stall, hardened races, polished oil passages, stage 2 shift kit), New process 205 transfer case with 5000 miles on rebuild(blew it up during 4 wheel burnout), custom drive lines(front has high angle double cv), heavy u joints, dana 44 axles front and rear. The rear axle is now the weakest link in the drive train and I have ruined 3 so far. The front axle I had rebuilt the same time as the t-case for good measure and have never had a problem with it. It has warn hubs as well. The lift kit is Rancho(blocked rear) 4 inches. At one time I rebuilt the entire brake system with new parts. Everything except the pedal. You will have some work getting it running, and I never got around to the interior which is pretty ratty. Any questions please feel free to ask. Buyer is responsible for shipping, however I can help with loading and may be able to deliver for a charge.
