Vehicle Detail
This car is being sold AS-IS with no warranty for parts or repair, with no returns/refunds. This car IS RUNNING AND DRIVING and has NEVER BROKEN DOWN! Please read below carefully. Here's the complete deal: 1999 BMW 540iT Touring Wagon fully loaded with M-Sport Package. Around 138,000 miles when it was parked, the odometer on the dash has a problem typical to this model and doesn't display all pixels. This is a relatively inexpensive fix with a replacement LCD screen that is under $30 on eBay. This is a fully loaded model with GPS Satellite Navigation with engine/systems monitoring, CD Changer, power leather seats with memory function, luggage cover over the rear compartment, rear passenger pull-down sunshades on both doors, self-leveling rear suspension, fog lights, tilt/telescoping steering, cruise control, power windows, power door locks, power steering, power brakes, power moon roof, ABS, Traction Control System, automatic 4-speed transmission, driver and passenger air bags front and side, backup sensors, a slide-out luggage tray in the rear compartment, dual-zone climate control, and other options that I can't even remember. The title is clear and in my possession. Here's the bad: I have been confined to a wheelchair and can no longer drive or maintain the car. There is a medium-loud tapping sound coming from the engine at idle. It could be a $5 problem, it could be a $1,000 problem. I have no way of knowing and I really can't fix either. The transmission shifts smoothly, everything power works on the car, and aside from the front end being bumped in a parking lot and dislocating the (intact) front bumper cover the body is good and straight. The clear coat on the paint is showing some oxidation in places. The coating on the wheels is peeling off. The interior is very nice, including a very tight headliner, with the exception of the driver's side seat bolster which has some wear from what I guess is someone heavy brushing against it getting in and out of the car. It is cracked but has not broken the surface. All glass on the car is intact. The oil pan needs to be replaced because the drain screw is stripped out, but I have checked into it and this is less than a $75 repair for someone who can install a gasket and turn some bolts. The cup holders need replacing, which will be about $20 for upgraded aftermarket ones. It was jump started and driven right before I started building this ad, but it may need a new battery. The keys/alarm remotes need new batteries. I'm trying to include everything here but I can't check everything. Feel free to ask. There are thousands of dollars worth of viable parts on this car, but it is still a very nice total package for someone with a little time and some know-how. Please take a good look at the photos and feel free to contact me with any questions. Send a private message and I will include my telephone number if necessary to answer to the best of my ability and knowledge. Please ask any questions you have prior to bidding. Buyer is responsible for shipping unless prior arrangements are made. There is no charge for local pick-up. I will assist in any way possible, but the tags on the car have been turned in and the insurance has been cancelled so it cannot be driven any distance for delivery.
