1939 Ford 'Barrel Grille' Truck, V8, 221/85 HP, Black, Completely Restored, Very Clean This truck is all steel with a 20 year old restoration. It has no body rust or bondo, but has minimal surface rust on the frame. The motor is a Flathead V8 with matching numbers to the frame. I believe the transmission is also matching, but unable to see all of the plate. The system has been changed from a 6V to a 12V. It cranks and runs good. It drives ok, but could be smoother with radial tires instead of bias ply tires. Steering and brakes could be beefed up; however, that would take away from its originality. All of the lights work. All of the gauges work except for the gas gauge. The gas gauge not working could be due to the float. This is really a great collector truck. There are very few of these original trucks left.
