Bill Mitchell, in the same year as his Corvette Stingray was introduced, referred to this design as "something between a Ferrari and a Rolls." I purchased the car 25 years ago and it has been stored every winter. It is a beautiful automobile, and I was struck at the time by its originality (other than paint), so have attempted to keep the car in that condition. Several mechanical repairs have been made, including new alternator, fuel pump, exhaust system, carburetor and radiator rebuild, etc., but very little cosmetic work has been required. The upholstery and carpets are original, and other than a few minor splits in the seams of the front seat bottoms, are in very good condition for a 51 year old car. Replacement seat covers can be purchased very reasonably. There is a small dent in the left rear quarter panel (see Pic.); and the older paint job, although it still looks good, could use a refresh. The engine is a 425 cu. in., 340hp nail head V8 and runs strongly. The three speed transmission shifts smoothly. Suspension is in good condition, and the car drives beautifully. Options include power windows, power drivers seat, seat belts, adjustable steering column, and air condition (currently not working). A new heater core is needed (new part comes with car, but needs to be installed). The odometer reads 77,000 miles, and although I have no way of verifying that number, seems reasonable considering the condition of the brake pedal, etc. Car is located close to Bangor International Airport, and I can provide transportation to and from the airport if you would like to view and take for a test drive. The car is a real head-turner, and will make a great investment for the next owner. Priced below book; the reason I am selling it is the need for space in our garage as winter is coming.
